Part of reason Klay left the Warriors is because of the pressure to win there and the blame that was pointed at him even with all of Green's outbursts. Klay felt that the Lakers are an even more pressured culture and again if they did not win a championship that most likely R%edick and then he would be blamed. What Kyrie told Klay was the Mavericks are a family and if they fail no one has take the blame. The wins are as a team and the losses are as a team. Luka is very willing to accept the blame if they fall short unlike Lebrone. Klay just wants to find the joy of playing basketball again. The Mavericks will be a sixty-win team at least this coming year and if Luka's, Kyrie's, and Klay's minutes are managed well they will win a championship.

I think Klay just watched the finals series and saw a team that could desperately use his services and when you compare that to the GSW current situation it was a no brainer.

I think part of the reason he had a bad season/playoffs (for his standards) is because he felt bitter and had mentally checked out at that point.

1. Klay is done with unwarranted pressure. The allure of LA wasn’t nearly enough to justify the circus that the Lakers will be and continue to be with LeBron on the team. He wants some calm after all the drama with Draymond. 2. He just saw the Mavs in the Finals. It’s been reported he came to his meeting with Nico and Finley having notes from film about how he could help the Mavs. He knows the impact he can make on a team that is a Top 5 team in the NBA. Lakers will compete for a Play-In spot again next year. 3. He sees how drastically Kyrie turned around since his arrival in Dallas. He knows how good the culture of the Mavs is, the chemistry built in that locker room, and how much calmer Dallas media is than LA and GS. He wants the same transformation and quality of life for himself. 4. Good relationships with Nico, Kyrie, etc. Kyrie and Klay both are with Anta. 5. What the Mavs will ask of him and create for him is exactly what he needs at this stage of career: hit open shots created for you, be a competent team defender, pass your Finals experience and knowledge to the team so we can get over the hump. Tells me a lot about his priorities that he chose us over LA. Cannot wait for next season!

I completely believe that there is truth to the reporting. But I also believe whoever this guy is making a big deal over nothing...amping it up for the clicks. As tiresome as Draymond? Not even close. I mean, we've ALL had moody co-workers before. And whenever they're in a sulky mood or something you just say whatever and go about your day. It's really no big deal. At least it never has put me out. Just as long as they're doing their job they can be pouty, sulky, pissy, angry or whatever. But Draymond? Getting suspended from work and making MY job harder....yeah, you bet that's gonna fuggin put me out and cause me to have issues with that person. So this "reporter" can eff off with his poor take. He's gonna have to come with better receipts than that to make me believe Klay is a bad teammate.
