The Swiss haven't shot down a plane for violating their airspace since WW2, despite hundreds of opportunities (200 airspace violations a year). All the Greek Gods were shitty in one way or another. Some were fine, but the absolute best has got to be Hades. Man was a saint compared to the other Gods. He treated his wife respectfully, he let her leave his domain to be with her mother, he never hit his wife, and he never attempted to cheat on her. Along with actually caring about his underlings (such as Cerberus and stuff) and being just a genuine good guy. He gets so much flak in modern media and its unfair.

@Spartan3222 жыл бұрын
@@poundgueux You do realize that "tended" and "always" are not the same thing right? A demonstration of an exception doesn't not demonstrate a refutation. If I say "All men are rapists" I'm making an easily refutable absolutist statement, (if you can demonstrate one man isn't a rapist my argument is objectively invalid) a logically stupid thing to do for you can never make such an absolute statement with confidence under common rationality towards such a subject. But if I say "Some men are rapists" that now depends on how we define "Some" which isn't absolutist. (the requirement for refutation is a lot higher and with vagueness of the language probably can't be refuted) If I say "Men tend to be assertive, aggressive, strong, and take risks" then the requirement for proof is a violation of the nuance I described, it requires demonstrating that the trend is not a majority, which in this case is statistical fact that it is so evidentially we know you can't. The required evidence for refutation is that a majority of female rulers did not tend towards higher brutality and violence in comparison to the common male ruler.

Regarding "all men are created equal" its important to note that he meant 'all white men are crated equal'. The idea of Man and Mankind has shifted, especially during the enlightenment, in which a poor understanding of evolution and trying to make everything 'scientific' took hold. White men were seen to be the pinnacle of human evolution and with this newfound love of science, they made sure to say they were the only rational human. So natives became irrational since they were seen as stalled in evolution and it was believed they could become like the Whites (hence the horrific residential school systems in Canada for example), and people of African descent were seen as 'deselected', a failed human, and thus subrational. So when he says "all men are created equal" he means "all white rational men are created euqal and no one else".
