You are talking about MIL etc… there are some parents who become SOOO rigid that apni zidd, apna gussa, apni akad main hi rehna chahtey hain. Kuch sikhao toh seekhna bhi Nahi chahtey hain… and Sahi bataun toh 49 ke umr main bhi kissey kya baat Karni hain woh bhi humein bathana hain unko,. Woh bhi kissliye , ki log kya sonchengey. Beti Ka divorce hogaya toh logon ko Patha Na chaley. Ye main keh rahi hoon from a perspective and a person who is from a Leadership team. My parents have spoiled my reputation in all of my relatives, by personally going at their places and explaing how their elder son is useless and good for nothing. Not even the formar maids were spared from providing our personal information. For past 20 years, I have been labeled as useless. Now I have stopped asking for respect. Only thing can solve this is living separate, atleast 20-25 kms away from parents. They have already spoiled enough my life, now I can't let them doing this anymore. The Older generation has no concept of globalisation. They ask me did I cook my own food whilst I was living in Australia. I was so busy earning $32 an hour that I didn’t have time to scratch my arse, let alone waste my precious time cooking my own food at home. Oh wow thanks for this video sir! I relate to this very strongly. I'm often treated as the 'family courier' to give things to my relatives and to sometimes run errands; sometimes the 'clown' to entertain my relative's kids too :D And other times to sit and listen to everyone else's problems in addition to the trauma dumping that my parents keep doing. I often struggle to put my foot down because I might have to burn bridges with people that my parents are close to. Sadly, my parents weren't very successful or productive when they were younger and have to rely on other people and me for most things. It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. And hilariously, no one ever checks up on me.

Sir there is one more problem very common with old people pls address it also. My MIL is 67 and since very beginning she her mother and siblings favourite topic of discussion is their health and unnecessary tension of small small things, anytime if you or anyone spend sometime with her she starts discussing her health 70% and other things rest 30% . She consumes medicine for BP, Diabetes etc. we have been taking her to doctors every month if one dieses get cure she gets some other health issue it keeps going. Physical exercise done by her is zero, we always ask her to indulge in physical exercises, walk, not to take stress but all in vein. Then we have to keep changing doctors because she thinks that doctor is not able to cure her. We have her insurance and she thinks if she gets admit in hospital it will be free but insaurance company rejected our claim. I had to resign from my Job because of these dramas and I got tired of managing my 3 year daughter, office and these dramas . Older generation these days enjoy talking about their health to gain sympathies.

My father in law is very very good person. But he always keeps saying monologs. There is no dialogue thing with him. I really feel frustrated many times. Coz when you sit for your meal he will start it and drains out my energy mentally. Duniya k saare questions unko tabhi poochne hai 😅 hamesha unko gas hoti rehti hai 24*7. He is very very less physically active. But he will not work on his problems instead will keep on hanging on the diabetes and gas problem he is having. His eating habits and timing are really bad. He will have his dinner after 10.30pm and will keep complaining about gas 😅. He is in his late 60s. But then he is alone and he needs our time. We will miss all his things when he will not be with us in future.

Some parents put in lots of effort and have expectations from their child that one day s/he will become an engineer but the day this engineer leaves the country for a better job offers the same parents start emotionally blackmailing her/him to come back to India. Many of those who yield under emotions and come back to India end up working low paying jobs or even jobless.. Some of these parents need to understand that the dynamics of the world have changed much faster in the last 20 years so if you prepare your children to fly high, then don't clip their wings the moment they are taking a flight just for your own emotional insecurities. Sir, This is an extremely relevant topic that you have covered. You are talking about MIL etc… there are some parents who become SOOO rigid that apni zidd, apna gussa, apni akad main hi rehna chahtey hain. Kuch sikhao toh seekhna bhi Nahi chahtey hain… and Sahi bataun toh 49 ke umr main bhi kissey kya baat Karni hain woh bhi humein bathana hain unko,. Woh bhi kissliye , ki log kya sonchengey. Beti Ka divorce hogaya toh logon ko Patha Na chaley. Ye main keh rahi hoon from a perspective and a person who is from a Leadership team. A senior professional who has gone through Sooo much in life only to cater to take good care of the parent, coz for ppl like us, who has been there-done that , seen so much lows that I want to go into some Ashram and not show off by buying new clothes, colouring hair etc etc… depth hi Nahi hain kyunki their life has been extremely easy…
