If they could blockade the entry of raw materials to the planet it could work. Tho I’m imagining it was already a resource rich world. Which since a ground invasion was impossible it boiled their decisions down to two, fight them in space and prevent any ships from leaving or orbital bombardment which was something the republic tried not to do. It would have worked far better but orbital bombardment is heavy stuff

They didn’t really have much of a choice though. During the early Clone Wars, the Republic was hilariously under-equipped. They didn’t even have proper warships! Just Acculmators that we’re forced into a battleship role. So they didn’t have the resources to actually bother with a full invasion of the planet and since the planet didn’t seemingly have a Separatist presence then who can blame them?

Like I get putting such a claim in the thumbnail or title as clickbait but insisting that it is true in the video is kinda sad. Especially since literally every single thing you ever talk about appearently would have decided the war as a whole... An interesting story like this remains interesting and the stakes don't always have to be the fate of the entire galaxy it can be enough if we fear for some of our hero's or a planet or 2, overstating the importance thou breaks the spell and kinda sucks for storytelling
