Wasting talented players in their prime has been a trend in Timberwolves history. After Garnett they wasted Kevin Love, nearly ruined Andrew Wiggins, traded Zach Lavine entering his prime and made Jimmy Butler unhappy. It's only now that the team has a real sense of direction and are doing their best to not waste the stars they have now with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards.

Brandon was a very good point guard but he just couldn’t stay healthy. Both Marbury and Billups would have definitely been a better pair with KG through his prime. Fortunately we had Sam Cassell who was and imo is the best point guard in team history, but that only lasted for- really 1 season… I pray we keep a good team around Anthony Edwards and don’t waste his prime like we did KG.

Bruh come on, the Timberwolves didn’t trade Marbury for “no reason” they traded him because Marbury requested a trade, Garnett got his extension first and was signed with that lucrative superstar contract, Marbury would make about 50 million less than KG if he stayed with the wolves he also wanted his own team and he wasn’t gonna settle for less while being seen as less even though he was, not to mention Tom Gugliotta their third all star didn’t like him either and went as far as to have his agent threaten to not resign if Marbury was still there which he was and so he left right before, it was more of bad luck, they didn’t want to lose Marbury yet had no choice in the end while losing the other all star
