@legal eagle Both China and India have thousands of years of civilizations. China and India have been neighbors and brothers also for thousands of years. Most of the time, the two civilizations interact peacefully and fruitfully. Occasional quarrels are unavoidable. Unlike US, China and India are not bombing the whole world, meanwhile standing on the moral high ground, pretending to spread peace.

Unfortunately, the North American educational systems are creating dumbed down, non questioning, irrational paper certified robotons unable to think and adapt to a rapid continuously changing global environment, influenced additionally by a cultural bias that it's people are the greatest minds.. Funny how that results in the the need for the growth of the nation to be dependent on the importation of education skilled professionals (H1B visas) from foreign countries while the local populations focus on service related soft skills that produce little tangible productive goods that society requires to sustain life. The key reason for the decline of the western economic competitiveness.

The globalization and new technology will surely reduce the disparity of development in the world. The African can have peace, Asian can have better education etc. Maybe in the future, a a worker in India can earn the same salary as a worker in USA if they do the same work. A student in Africa can have the same education as a student has in USA with out any discrimination. But the developed country will not be happy to see it, because they think there is only one cake which is the world, if you take more I take less. That's why the technology is so important. Reduce the communication barriers. Enhance the productivity to make the cake bigger so that the rest 6 billions population in the world can have a piece of cake too. Less disparity less discrimination less war and killing. It's what the technology shall do.

As Chinese, I sincerely wish our neighbours, including India, North/South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan can drop our prejudice and focus on how to promote economics and facilitate cultural communications. Why would we become enemies just because of America's manipulation that telling everyone China is a threat and he will threaten every country and everyone in the world? I can assure you that, China's culture that lasts for several thousand years has put the will of peace deep in our subconscious. That's the reason why China had never dominated the world when he was the greatest empire in history, and also why China would never dominate the world in the future. Rome, Spain, Portugal and the Great Britain, they all tried to conquer the world when they become powerful, bringing poverty and slavery to the world though they called this "civilization", but China did not. That's surprisingly simple, right? But unfortunately, the western countries and even those surrounding countries won't believe what we believe. They just hypothesize what we will do because they would definitely do if they are in the state of China. There is an ancient word in Chinese, "Gauge the heart of a gentleman with one ' s own mean measure ". That is exactly what the countries treating China with hostility are doing.

Your perspective on how the world will no longer advance and has worsened by mentioning manufacturing in Asia (and China specifically) smacks of condescension. Ancient Asian civilizations discovered math, the compass, gunpowder, porcelain pottery (which the Dutch butchered) and so much more. Japanese electronics and cars, mocked in the 60s, trounced most of the Western competition in the 80s in innovation, quality and price. In recent times, Huawei was the 1st to have end-to-end 5g infrastructure available for sale to the world. That's why the US banned it. Fintech in China is more advanced than the rest of the world such that if my Resume contains Ant Financial, any bank in the world would be happy to hire me in a relevant digital position. That might have been the case when the Americas and Australasia were inhabited by hunter gatherers and whilst European people were still agricultural but its rubbish now. But for the US, China would still be a Japanese colony and India a British colony. China's in decline both economically and demographically and it's hubristic leaders look like leading it into a war with the US which will return it to a peasant agricultural society - if it survives.

The share of total world GDP by region is obviously really impressive (1:28). However, I am wondering whether it gives an accurate picture because it does not take into account population size. The infographic probably should have used GDP per capita but I think the point remains basically the same whether you use GDP, GDP per capita, GDP PPP, or GDP PPP per capita there will be stagnation in the West and great increases in China, India, and Asia since all four graphs would have looked pretty similar, or at least would have shown the same trend. Democracy plays a huge part in the success of the West. So does freedom. 2 ideas that aren't common in Asian societies. Chinas success in recent times is truly an amazing thing to behold but how will that success play out over time? Will the lower classes find a leader and revolt as they see the success and excess of their leadership? Will the liberal policies of the West lead to the downfall of the countries involved or will progressive thinking lead to an even more Utopian society?

the West failed to react intelligently and thoughtfully to the new world environment created by the return of Asia, despite the early warning by Napoleon about the impact of China. He further explains how the West was responsible for waking up China and India and making them successful, after being the first civilization to successfully modernize and transform itself, and how it has helped by sharing its gifts of education and reasoning with the rest of the world. The sharing of Western wisdom led to three silent revolutions that led to a significant transformation of Asia. three revolutions. The first one is the economic revolution in which Asian countries have performed well because they adopted free market economics, which was a gift from the West. The second one is the psychological revolution that shifted the belief from fate to taking control and improving lives, which led to a spike in entrepreneurship throughout Asia. The third revolution is the good governance revolution. The speaker notes that the West should have adapted to the new world with the rise of Asia, but instead, the West became distracted with the end of the Cold War and the 9/11 attacks. The West did not adjust or adapt to the rise of Asia and its significance, which caused Western workers to lose their jobs and their incomes to stagnate. Kishore Mahbubani argues that the West should adopt a new "three-m" strategy to recover and come back in strength: minimalist, multilateral, and Machiavellian. Mahbubani recommends adopting a minimalist approach to prevent Western interference in many societies where it generates anger and resentment, accurately risking resources and spirits from Western societies. He then further explains the benefits of multilateralism by emphasizing the importance of working with the remaining 88% of the world's population, with the logical and rational answer being to work with everyone through the United Nations. Multilateralism is not just beneficial to solve problems but is also essential in ensuring global success. Kishore Mahbubani emphasizes the importance of multilateralism as the best approach for the West to constrain the rising powers in Asia and other developing countries, rather than relying on unilateral methods. He believes that the UN, as the only global village council, can play a significant role in promoting multilateral norms and institutions. Mahbubani also notes the West's pessimistic outlook on the future and encourages them not to fear the rest of the world if they adopt a wise strategy of minimalism, multilateralism, and Machiavellianism, stating that a great future lies ahead for humanity if we embrace it together.
