No matter what, behind every successful badminton player is an experienced coach. But why is this? Why is it so hard to teach yourself badminton? I discuss the 3 main reasons, and what you can do if there aren't any badminton coaches in your area.

It's sad because badminton in our country doesn't get the attention it needs. my school doesn't let us have the opportunity to have a coach, because they only focus on the one who already have a talent.

Yeh, luckily online coaching for badminton is becoming more popular, while it isn't as accurate, as long as you're following the steps carefully, a coach won't be needed until the later stages

Our school is like that too they let certain sports like basketball and volleyball which is very popular in our country have a coach while the badminton players like me in our school doesn’t even give us a coach

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve played for 5 years and I still have tons of things to improve. When I hit the shuttle from the back of the court (I don’t know what to English term is) I always hit it with my arm low. It’s stuck in my muscle memory and I’m struggling SO hard trying to get away from my bad habit. I have 3 coaches in my club but the only thing they keep saying is “think about your arm!” and I’ve cried multiple times during practice because I have no idea how to get over it. Great video and thanks for the motivation💪🏻💕

Jonathan, becoming pro also means heavy burdens on the body and sometimes you can hurt yourself very bad. I was wondering if you ever got heavily injured (knee, foot, etc) and had to stay out of court for a long time. How did you handle it? Were you sad? Did you think it would be the end of you ?

It's not all about technique, fitness is equally important, if you're fatigued you can't use the right technique

A question... why did you choose to coach? You said you signed up to become a coach the day after your 16th (or 18th ?) birthday when most young players aspire to play at an international level.

I am very grateful to have found my coach at the beginning of my badminton journey and to have train me everyday (even when we just play games.) I made a vlog about an example of my training day here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqjSg4SvpZyIe6M Since I'm an American who lives in China I have been very lucky to have resources here that I never would in my home country. I even set up some training camps to help bridge the gap between east and west because I agree with you that a coach is INSANELY valuable and really the key to being a top player.
