My girlfriend is great like this, when I started getting piercings and split my tongue she was extremely supportive, even now I have almost 40 facial piercings, when I decided to grow a long goatee and ponytail and dye them and my eyebrows purple, even though she had said that she did not particularly like beards or long hair, she was happy to help me get the look I wanted, now she picks out eyeliner that she thinks would suit me and has ideas about what we could do with make-up if I ever want to experiment with more, funny thing is that she always avoided drawing attention to herself but now she has got her own piercings and dyed her hair blue and the things that she said she didn't think looked good on a guy and the body modification, she loves it now, says she can't imagine me without colourful hair, split tongue and stretched nostrils and she thinks the eyeliner is hot and is now suggesting a bit of eyeshadow and painted nails, lol.

In the future/near future as you mature, your idealoligy will change. I've been there, done that. As we age/get older, we loose our views on superficial pop culture/anti popculture hypes. Body modification seemed so much cooler when we were 20 versus 60 with grandchildren.

Kinda random but I'm going thru a lot with my bro and his wife right now and you kinda give me hope. They straight up bully their daughters calling them retarded and it's just a horrible situation. They're just my nieces , not even by blood , but seeing your parents accept you and love you and be proud of you gives me a lot of hope for these kids. Totally not related to lgbtq issues at all, but they're 4 and 8 years old and they're surrounded by so much negativity, abuse and overall adversity, basically all from their crappy parents, and seeing you as a well adjusted, bright and respectful person , which I'm sure is due in no small part to your loving and accepting parents fills me with such hope for my brother's kids. As their Uncle, as long as I can play a little role in their life and provide a little bit of love, support and normal role model type stuff, I think they're gonna be alright. It's a tough world out here and we gotta be kind to one another, my nieces and nephews have and are going to have a real rough time growing up and becoming adults and surviving due to their terrible parents. Not to hijack your thread but your parents are an inspiration to me and it just strikes me how much of a good job just one person can do in being a part of a kid's life, even if I'm just their Uncle who their parents won't let them see that much (because lately I've made a point of calling out their abusive parenting techniques). Sorry just getting my thoughts down here. Proud of you dog.

I remember 5yrs ago when my daughter came out.. I could tell it was serious what she wanted to talk about and I was worried!! She said, mom, I'm gay.. She started to go into how she knows etc.. I let her finish. She looked at me waiting for my response and seriously, the only thing I thought was, umm, ok, I'm heterosexual 🤷🏽... She's like MOM, I'M SERIOUS!! I said, me too! I didn't know you needed me to tell you!! I knew she was gay, I thought she was going to tell me something was wrong!! I was freaking mad! My heart was beating and was ready to throw up and that was it!!!?? I'm like girl, you being you? Welp, guess what? You're the same child you were 1 sec before you told me. Her brother and sister, we just thought the same thing.. My husband and I went on to dinner, it was date night!! I don't understand parents that aren't like his dad or me.. When I had my 3 kids I didn't say, HOPE THEY ARE HETEROSEXUAL.. No, hope they are happy and productive citizens.. My daughter is my BFF and we talk and chat 24/7,she's my youngest, my baby!! Plus, she knows how to do makeup BETTER THAN ME! Parents, grow up!
