When he said "you're a quitter" so honestly and directly into his face, I was a little shocked and surprised. But a second later and I thought, wow, I wish I had friends around myself who told me what I need to hear, and not what I want to hear.

I'm known as the asshole in my friend group but they all know I get shit done and will tell them exactly how something is and when they need a little motivation for something they always come to me cause I'll tell them straight up stop feeling sorry n get shit done..( there is a difference between feeling sorry for yourself and having a legitimate problem mentally but I have found majority of mental issues can be fixed by doing some serious damage because it's not as physically hard as it is mentally)

Repent of sin and Trust in Jesus! John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Matthew 7:13-23 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. --

“The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.” Was one of the best quotes I heard a Sargent told me when I wanted to just drop pack during bootcamp. Nope I thought about all the guys that had it worse than me and fought a war with less gear, worse weather conditions, and I’m sure they were wishing they were back in training. But here I was feeling sorry for myself all because the 15 mile hike was hurting my back and feet. I remember getting angry at myself for being so soft and looking back at my platoon mates struggling with me. I thought “what makes me so fucking special?” So I pushed and pushed because I knew your body will break before your mind does. In the end I made it through and now as an NCO I have to make sure to motivate my guys like Leon here. I’m not perfect, I struggle with some guys who are like Matt but I do whatever it takes to get them there

My father served in the NAVY, and had a chance to get into BUDS, around the late 80s. He told me some fun little stories. It's fun to see guys who are all "alpha, sigma, macho" tough guys go in. And about 3 hours later start crying and giving up. Guys passing out. Puking. Bleeding. Getting cpr because they drown. Hypothermia. You name it. One guy was running so much his leg snapped and collapsed to the ground. Or a tendon tore. He talked about the rafts they hold above your head. Getting balding spots because it rubs on your head all the time. Sand ends up in places you never knew existed. When you do deep dives they do a test that makes you trip the fuck out. They basically torture you throughout BUDS. Everyone is strong when they get in. But strength isn't the only part. It's all mental too. They fuck with your head a lot. Like, a lot of guys drop out because they hate tight spaces. But that's BUDS. After that you got 3 years or so of training. You are a specialist. You are basically a green beret mixed with a swat team essentially. But in the end, You're just a warrior with specialized skills. But yeah, the media shows you all the badass parts of being in the military, playing Godsmack and wearing camo. But you dont hear or feel the pain of waking up but ass early to get ready for a mission after you just got back from another. Or seeing a kid get his head blown off in front of his little sister. Or telling a mother their son just died because of a leadership mistake and she collapses in disbelief. She'll never see him or hear his voice ever again. War is horrible. But for those who want to keep their country free, then having no sleep, food, water, being tortured, and not being recognized for it, is the price to be paid. War sucks. Live in peace whenever you can, obviously.

There is enough bad influence in everybodys life. Push yourself and your friends if Ur able. One last advice, if u dont Have Good friends, go to the army Doesnt matter which country your from. I promise you, you will find people that struggle with the same Problems as you or they already did it so they will help you. There is a very Good friendship for everybody in the army. True story , my story. At 18 i had a buddy of mine replicate hell week for me and some friends , we were all gonna serve so we wanted to see what's what. I did okay , and theoretically passed hell week. At 21 when i tried to join (Army) i couldn't run a mile , because all i've been doing is drinking and smoking (cigarettes) , i tried at 22 again and passed out while running . I thought i just wasn't cut for it , but in the back of my mind i had the : how the fuck did i pass the replicated hell week that summer and now i can't fucking run 500meters and not die. For the next 2 years i went to the gym and pusshed everything out of me and finally made it in the Army. So no excuses.

What an awesome video. It’s amazing what people are capable of and I’m glad you both pulled through. Even if it isn’t a “true” hell week, it might as well have been. My dream ever since I was 6 was to become a navy seal. Unfortunately they wouldn’t take me because of my illness. But I still learned a lot and cherish every moment of working towards that goal. Anyone who even does 48 hours of seal training has my respect.

Motivation is not your friend. Your goals and how important the are is. ‘Not feeling like it’ is not a reasonable enough condition to downscale how important something is to you. You know enough about where you’re at to type your comment and that is all the information you need to get going. FYI I cared enough about you to reply to you now you have that condition met. This is a solid video and story. One point I’ll humbly make that the title reminds me of is: What I think people don’t understand is that sure the physical challenges and torture of pushing the body past your limits is hard but, not the hardest part of making it into these types of career fields in the military. It’s the mind fuck that lasts for months or even years prior to and after getting your opportunity at a selection. It’s the physical and psychological stress applied to you 24/7, the weight of the expectations, anticipation of hardship, fear of failure, letting teammates or cadre down, etc.. The nonstop attention to detail. Battling injuries, sleep deprivation, time away from normal life, being a selfless teammate, being a true leader, completing tasks big and small constantly, not getting distracted or discouraged to the point of questioning your commitment to the end goal. You can’t really prepare for this type of ordeal. You just have to go in as resilient mentally and physically as possible and expect the unexpected to succeed. All of that is why people quit or don’t make it. Cheers and salute to all those who signed up and tried !

Its tough to do - I've never done any Navy Seal type of training, but did go through Army. Honestly, at some point or another you have to realize that you no longer are doing it for anything else but the guy in front of you and the guy behind you. That's it. And keep your world small. One meal time at a time, focus on just that and execute.
