It was my pleasure to have played Anna Leigh when she was just starting out in Delray, FL. She and her parents are genuinely great people that have worked hard to attain this level of excellence!

Outstanding video with expert interviews. Appreciated both their input and have respected Todd Boss's efforts in racquetball for a long time.

Absolutely Fantastic video! ALW has been my favourite PB player for several years. I first saw her tournament videos when she was 14 and said this girl will be the best in the world at 18. She has done it a year earlier. And just think of what she will be like at 22. I am exactly 60 years older than her and would LOVE to ether practice or warm up with her, just to see what it is like to play against the best in the world. It would be a bucket-list honour. You just cannot comprehend the speed and precision of her shots without playing live.

ALW will be the best pickleball player ever in history in terms of wins, no doubt. He raw talent is one thing, her rise during the early stage of pickleball gaining popularity is another. As the pro circuit and the sport in general get crowded, it will be harder and harder to dominate like she has been.

Wonderfully done. Anna Leigh, no doubt, is the greatest women's pickleball player ever. That stats guy was off the hook, great stuff.

Very comprehensive info about the serve. I personally think the drop serve is the answer and to hell if it doesn't look athletic enough. make the serve hit below the hips might be the answer.. there would have an easier time judging if the serve was illegal

The reason players dominate pickleball is because money just came into effect. Johns brothers and Anna are the first to train like professional so they are a leg up. 3 years ago nobody played this game

ALW is now the highest paid pickleball player, male or female, making more than Ben Johns. If you watch her play against pro males, she wins those games, too. She is truly incredible to watch.

I like the MLP rule with less restrictions. If someone has a great serve let them be rewarded for it. In Rec play if someone is ripping serves and acing people don't play against them, let them move up and play someone who can handle the pace. Tournaments are about winning if they were about fun they wouldn't cost so much.

The most impressive aspect of Anna Leigh is her mental game. She plays with no fear. She is so much better mentally and emotionally than any female tennis player on the WTA tour. Tennis players could learn from her.

LOL um ok.. A bit dramatic there but sure

She played tennis that’s all I needed to know.

Seems like she started playing pickleball first, these comments attributing pickleball talent to just tennis makes me cringe. The tennis gave her skills she could use in pickleball but it is probably like less than 10% directly transferable and less than 50% that needs to be majorly adapted.

This was a great video, but it was missing about 200 transitions and jumps that I signed up for. Get the word out about this channel so he can grow his subs.

Anna Leigh was born on January 26, 2007, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Shortly after, her family relocated to Clinton, North Carolina, where she spent the first eight years of her life. In 2015, the family moved again, this time to Delray Beach, Florida. 14:49 Anna Leigh twists her ankle chasing a ball and Kate Fahey screams in her face after winning the point. (interesting ending)

She's a very good and talented player within the sport of Pickleball.. but to label her a GOAT at only 3-4 years of playing IMO is jumping the gun too soon! If she is still playing at this higher level skill and dominating her opponents say about 10-15 years from now-then your video would be correct. Just don't hand out trophy before it is actually earn!
@MauiPukaballАй бұрын
Well she's the greatest up to this point in time. And I would argue that at 17 (soon to be 18) years of age she still has plenty of good years ahead of her. I also believe that nobody will ever surpass the number of gold medals she's accumulated (and will continue to accumulate) before she's done.
@georgeedginton2541Ай бұрын
Her mom has trained her since a young age. In just a few years she will no longer be dominating. Do not compare he to tiger woods and federer . Pickleball is a novelty sport that anyone can play.
@andrewlenzАй бұрын
It depends on your definition of “dominate”. I expect ALW to remain #1 for at least another five years and expect her to be in the top five for as long as she wishes to play. She is young, has a big head start, has great resources, and has been proven to be adaptable. Pickleball is a “novelty sport”? Perhaps, but it’s continuing to grow like crazy. I’m sure tennis started as a “novelty sport” too. And, yes, anyone can play, but not everyone can play WELL. As a player gets better and better in this nearly 60-year-old sport, it gets harder and harder to find equal opponents. Initially, it’s easy. But there is a real skill to pickleball. There was a tennis pro who came to pickleball, returned to tennis and was amazed how slow the game of tennis was to him. That and he was surprised by the complex strategy required in pickleball, especially doubles.
Shes had no real interaction in the real world being home schooled, playing with mom. Heard AL has her own "coach" to go to tournaments, further isolation. This shows in interviews. Those surrounding her have no personality either, so likes attract.
@johngreen3587Ай бұрын
Please don’t compare her to Michael Jordan
@imsap2323Ай бұрын
She is amazing and I’m a big fan and she is definitely the most dominant female pickleball pro…. But she does not and cannot “hit the ball as hard as the men”. hinting that she could beat pro men is ridiculous… they would destroy her. (no offense, but it’s the truth)

A couple of million $$$ when 18 for playing a game where some travel and someone is not trying to knock your head off is hardly a waste. You get paid for playing a game? More play leisure Pickleball in America then any other sport. 10 million more than tennis! According to the 2023 APP Pickleball Participation Report, 36.5 million people played pickleball in the last year, with 14% of Americans over 18 trying the sport within the last two years. You can look up the dwindling tennis numbers.
@bestiapickleballАй бұрын
I mean, she's made a few million dollars directly from the sport so its difficult to argue, "its a waste of time"
