Thanks for the video, I would recommend filling filter with oil before installing, other wise when you start - there will few seconds while oil pressure builds up before getting day to the cams and head.

Difficult to accomplish on a horizontally threaded filter, and although you make a very small point, it’s a 2.9 Qt engine. Not a 10 Qt Ford F-350 Diesel…in which case you’d prime the filter with an entire Qt alone. But nice to see there’s still nitpickers who can bitch about anything. Including, a cool, fast, and assistive video on how to change your own oil so you don’t have to pay 120$+ for a motorcycle shop to do it.

The owners manual says : Once the O ring makes contact ... TWO FULL TURNS to proper specs. The K&N filter has a nut on front of the filter to help achive this . I don't think most people could do that bear handed.

I normally change mine every 2,000 miles. Im sure you can go up to 4,000 and be fine. But cleaner is better. The slip on is super easy. Its two bolts, and a gasket. Takes 5 mins.

Easy to do, but as a new owner of a used bike still feel better now seeing a video on it. Question however I am thinking of moving to full synthetic. Since the bike did not call for it I cant say what my change interval should be but I know I can extend it over conventional oil. Any idea of a good mile marker using synthetic? E.G. Every 4000 Miles?
@GladiusJon8 жыл бұрын
Honestly I would Not extend the Milage Marker. Im sure you could do it and probably never have an issue. BUT, think of it this way. Unlike a 4 wheel vehicle, if something comes loose in the Engine / Trans while your riding. More then Likely it will end with the Rear tire being Locked up, and possibly throwing you down the road at a high rate of speed. I beat the Living Crap out of my engines, and one thing I like knowing is they are clean and well lubed.
@patrickmosley49358 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks. Got 6 quarts of the Lucas stuff and 2 K&N filters just now. I'll get that oil change done soon as they come in. Was not able to find a really good place to get the bikemaster filter but found the HighFloFiltro and K&N stuff for a good price. Yamilube was a bit cheaper than the Suzuki for 5qrt but the Lucas came with high recommendation on a few bike forums and came from Amazon as 6 individual quarts (also its semi synthetic the one I got) so it took the win over the 5qrt making it perfect for 2 oil changes.

hell yea man! Lucas is Great stuff. I have run that in my GSXR. Seemed to make shifts butter smooth.

Gladius Jon everyone wants to ride a naked bike until their heads start flopping around in high wind lol ... what exhaust do you have on yours? it sounds awesome! i ended up getting the Ixil Hyperlow on my 2013... love the throaty v-twin sound
@GladiusJon9 жыл бұрын
Mark Glenn Zamora haha yea that wind is killer. I just took the factory muffler off, and added a $10 tip. Basically the same sound as an IXIL but it is a little raspy at times. Im Planing on doing a full yoshi catless soon. But I want to purchase year round riding gear first.

I have a question about the warning lights on the left of the rev dial. I viewed a bike today and the fuel warning light is in the top left next to the neutral light and the FI light below the fuel light on the left middle. Is this the same as yours? I'm worried that it may have been tampered with and that the orange flashing light was the FI not the fuel light but I might be wrong because I have seen some dials with the Fi light and the fuel indicator light the other way around

How to remove air filter?
@Ladosligese3 жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention :) .. turn the drainhole plug to see if it moves at all .. you dont wanna drain the oil without beeing able to fill it .. you also said check oil for metal flakes .. all you have to do is check the drain plug .. since it has a little magnet on the end of it .. no flakes there .. then you`re all good .. and please prefill the oilfilter before installing, if you dont it will take a few secs to build preasure.. ergo engine is running dry for unwanted wear.. oh and please ALLWAYS wear gloves when handeling used motor oil or break dust .. since they are both carcinogenic .. no need to raise the risk of cancer

All good. Second question - My gladius fell over... (wind...) and leaked a good bit of oil out - What should I check for (aside from physical damage)
@GladiusJon8 жыл бұрын
Brock Larkins pretty much, just looking to make sure the case isnt cracked. were was the oil leaking out from?
@BrizzleFOshizzleful7 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately.. I wasn't the one who found it that way... some friendly neighbors picked it up for me. I wanted to make sure it had enough oil so I just ended up changing it myself. looks like about 2 quarts (almost exactly) drained. I've taken it out on a ride a few times since then. Everything seems fine.

Why, why, WHY would anybody do a video like this with the camera mounted to their head? Buy a $15 tripod, a little editing and make something watchable. I mean, if you're going to take the time to do it, then do it with some production value.
@GladiusJon4 жыл бұрын
Well this was one of the first videos I ever produced. And it would appear to have done well enough over the years. That said, your welcome for the free technical knowledge. And I would suggest focusing on your own channel. Your stats suck.
@TitanEntertainmentvideo4 жыл бұрын
@@GladiusJon Well I could care less about KZbin "stats" or my channel. I mostly use it to share videos with clients and most of my videos are hidden so only people I want can see them. I'm just passing along some professional advice. Take it or don't, I really don't care.

Titan Entertainment You are representing your company under that name. A true professional would act in said manner. Your original comment is very off putting. What if a potential client had seen it?
