"When you search for consistency across multiple buckets of knowledge, then you realize that the human experience is a shared experience. Whether you love gardening, whether you love physics or finance, or whether you love arts and fashion, something about those things exists in a way that's consistent." Wow. That was really mind blowing. I feel like I always knew this, but Mayden said it so clearly and eloquently.

"Leverage your circumstances and turn them into opportunities"... This is literally the golden rule of anyone successful and all entrepreneurs. It sounds so basic but that's why it's so beautiful. It's an optimistic view of things, telling you that no matter hard/difficult things might seem, there's a way for you to pull something out of it to help better yourself and others. This one will definitely stay with me!

THE IT PHENOMENON STRIKES AGAIN!!!! This guy is my spirit animal, everything he said, just resonated with me deep to my core. Guidance, direction, what path to follow, in essence he gave me permission to be myself. and being myself it's the person that I am right now, but the one that is pacing back and forth in the back of my mind that has been waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting to come out. I'm fired up!!!

Awesome episode! Loved the verbal eloquence and the fact that you picked it up and made such a point of it. I'm a huge fan of brilliant use of language. Highest impact points for me: 1. Right off the bat: “So my mindset is: anybody can be great… I want to be the greatest, ever, at what I do. So everything I touch, everything I put my time and talent into, I don’t think about being great, I think about how can I be the greatest." I think I've mentioned in a previous comment on one of your videos that I've always viewed myself as a sort of "80/20 person" who would always be satisfied being really good at stuff but not necessarily best. I've really enjoyed having that perspective challenged and trying to really think about and try to envision a world where I am truly able to see myself as becoming the best at something. 2. “When you keep a mindset of service, your own darkness becomes smaller and less significant because you aren’t going to focus on your own insecurities and problems. You will focus on figuring out how to amplify others.” Love this, and as I think about it, it rings true for me from experiences of giving I've had in the past. I grew up in an environment that was very scarcity minded and all about "getting yours" and though I've educated my way out of that mindset I'm always looking for strong hooks and reinforcements. 3. The process of breaking down huge goals into concrete, actionable steps starts with the willingness to put yourself out there and ask a question that is uncomfortable. -- And a few quotes that I particularly enjoyed: “Your greatest enemy is your inner me.” "My limit is the limit I set, and I believe I am limitless.”

That's where excellence comes from - it's the small things done well consistently over time. 10:02. If everyone around me is fed and no one is starving, then I don't have to worry about people being villainous and hungry, trying to take from me. 12:25. I like. I wish. I wonder. I like that I did this. I wish I would have done that. I wonder if I had tried that what would have happened. 15:32. Your greatest enemy is your inner me. 16:30. this interview opened something in my mind! I own my own consulting business since 2012. Not really my vocation and the money is not what you see on instagram for business owners. I'm 27 now and it still feels like I have no idea what I wanna do with my life. It's like...everywhere you look everybody seems so clearly convinced of the one path they wanna follow that you just feel like there is something wrong with you for feeling directionless. BUT THIS opened my eyes that it's not a bad thing to explore different types of endeavors and businesses and keep collecting skills and mindsets and other values. This helped me understand that all the years invested into my hobbies like freerunning and parkour, fitness, movie making and animation, public speaking, historical reenactment (even though I barely made ANY money out of those) they were not aimless wasted shots at life. In this day and age we keep forgetting that there is no speciffic way to success. Even harder to believe in yourself when you see people younger than you, boasting that they made 500 billion dollars from pulling some online thing that clicked. This was a great video to listen to while hustling to make ends meet. Thank you!
