Can I just say, what I love about Tom and his interviewing style, is that he is so secure with himself that he never ever tries to out talk the guest or butt in while they speak. He always listens attentively and is humble. He’s the best interviewer I’ve ever seen bc he gives the floor to the guest and lets them give all the information without interruption. It makes it so enjoyable for me as a listener to be able to watch and learn. Kudos!!

@HopeAmericaTrump5 жыл бұрын
I agree. This is my 1st video from this particular KZbin user & I would love to see more. However, I do not think his repeated use of the "F" word makes his Qs or comments "better" somehow. It's completely unnecessary. Repeatedly using such words make a lot of us uncomfortable & it also makes the speaker sound quite immature. Somehow, I feel that this guy is better than that. Notice that the *guest was BRILLIANT! Yet he never resorted to ANY such harsh words. If you feel you have to use the words in conversation, that's fine but when speaking in public you should think of your audience. I'd reserve them for when you're NOT doing a show or interview because it simply isn't very professional. That would be my only suggestion to someone looking to improve their show ... or theirselves.

This was just mind blowing. To think about the potential our minds have. I really like the idea of the present lasting for about a second and a half then it becomes a memory. If you can change that memory to serve you you can change your future. So using my past experience of public speaking (up until now I hated it) and the negative feelings that went along with it and tweaking them into something positive I can restructure my mind into getting rid of that fear. Changing my memories little by little to see the positive in each situation can help eliminate any fears moving forward! This is a top 5 ep! Thanks guys!

Ah crap...you know this is what most of Dianetics (pre Scientology) is about. Repeating the painful emotion until the charge has dissipated. They even make you hold this rudimentary lie detector they say can gauge this e-motion(or energetic motion) to monitor the pain's dissipation. I am not a Scientologist, but I did read quite a bit of it 30+ years ago, and a lot of it has now become standard pop-psychology which is interesting. Don't join and don't spend money on them, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Some of the early stuff is quite interesting. I remember reading a spiritual book a long time ago where they claimed there can be no pain where you place the light of consciousness, be it physical or mental. Good luck my friend.

What a great reframe... I had a parent who always told me that i was stupid and it really has affected me during my life, but to reframe it to If you tell me I am stupid it no longer matters because I am a learner and it only will compel me to learn and to learn more. I own a mistake and that makes me anti-fragile. That is very empowering.

Well said on the subject on seeing dreams. In spite of doctors and scientists saying it was impossible, Roger Bannister ran the four-minute mile. Many followed after. More often than not, when we say something is impossible, we put limits on that something. What limits truly exist? I am sure the number of limits in life is smaller than we think.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview for so many reasons. First, anyone that will say I was wrong is my kind of person. Second, this helped me understand my high tolerance for pain (they called it suffering). I believe suffering is optional. Either way, I believe your relationship to pain will determine your success. This interview is everything!

This is why education is so important and seeking out resources for growth. Not social media for being sold to greedy or selfish trends. We need to change what is important. Sure, the economy is, but not just for select few or 1%. Happiness, pleasure, joy, these are what are important. Reprogram your mind and help others. Don’t be moved or persuaded otherwise.

I believe emotional memories and past choices are stored in the body like a hard drive and the brain funtions as the processor. Life experience and data imput determins function, with repeated patterns becoming hard wired. Unfortunately the language that we have been programmed to think in limits us when it comes to expressing emotional needs or feelings almost forcing us to play the who's right game. Trusting your intuition rather than listening to all the fear based mind chatter that follows a choice usually proves favourable. The act of observing effects that which is being observed thus the emotional state of the observer determines the observer's perception of that which is being observed. Anything that is not love is fear. Great talk bless you all.

My Opinion: Our abilities to overcome any questions we create in our minds, are only mere thoughts based in mirrored reflections of ourselves! Our perceptions of reality are mere moments of decisions we weigh back and forth in nano seconds that create the paths and decisions we ultimately take or make. This talk with Moran Cerf on Impact Theory is one everyone should listen to.

Thank you Tom for bringing him in. There is a lot more in the Vedic knowledge of India about the human psyche that Moran may be definitely interested in, like the understanding that there are layers or concentric enclosures of awareness that is in control of the human activities at any given moment and how there are these three basic States of mind which combine in various permutations to form the whole human psyche itself and these 3 States are called the modes, namely, of goodness, passion and ignorance. And there is the presence of the subconscious, which is actually in control of us and that subconscious is a shared consciousness among all sentient beings, and is called the superconsciousness.. etc.. All this, small part of Vedas, would surely throw deeper insights into understanding the human brain and, eventually, transcending it!!

I do think it's kinda fun to see that more and more scientific research shows what has been given to us through the Vedas. It is just surprising to me (as a westerner) that so few actually want to go to the east (Indian scriptures) and study them. This is not only concerning how the body and mind work and their interaction. But also the interaction between the senses and the environment, the difference between intelligence, mind and soul and the evolution of consciousness.

we are responsible for the heart response on all levels. . .when the spirit of a person allows god into their spirit they can overcome weaknesses in the mind and allow the heart to control your life. . . your life is not about your brain but your brain is a result of your heart. . .

god is a crutch, a concept, or idea, a manual and guide to being a good person rules made by man to measure us all but like all guide or manuals you read and follow the instructions and you apply what you've learned to construct the object it is another of many human crutches we use to explain the unexplainable or comfort us to distract from a harsh reality, the teachings are important but I think the story of how they came to be is bigger than the lessons they are ment to teach and is poisoning itself and the message in kind because it creates, separation, inequality,inadequacy, fear ,hatred, WAR. We need to take responsibility and stop believing some unseen force will make everything ok. sadly it will never happen in my lifetime possibly several if we get that far. but I hope one day we can come to free our minds from the limitations religion forces on us
@carolgayfagerhaugh19695 жыл бұрын

At 40:46 he is talking about us having various voices in our heads and makes the statement that 'we are not the most important one' by which he means, I think, we as conscious beings (or our conscious voice) . Without wishing to devalue this man's statement at all, the notion of our brain or psyche having multiple voices in it, is not new. In my transformation (coaching) practice I call them 'parts' - and I will spend quite some time introducing this notion to clients and inviting them to consult with these parts (in a guided exercise) in order to arrive at a solution or plan which is authentic and congruent of who they really are, and one which uses the best of the best of them. Human unhappiness often comes from a war or discord between these voices or, for want of a better word, from a lack of integration between them. Asking them to communicate with each other, and to agree on something, takes away dissent, causes the host/person to move forward feeling at peace because all the parts are acting in concert, and this in turn obliterates sabotage. You can imagine how powerful the results are when you do this - and the client's sense of integration rockets. When you make decisions about your life in this way, they are many times stronger than they would otherwise be, and doubts are handled very swiftly and effectively. Many other interesting possibilities emerge too: you can assign sponsorship and mentor roles to some of the parts, invite them to solve your issues for you by morningtime (or any time) or use them for creativity and envisioneering. It's nice to know that science now supports this truth.

I love this video it covers a lot of ground i have been thinking about for years, I never realised that it had got this far, but choosing to be the one in control of your choices is paramount, and i have learnt that any choice you make will always fail if you do not understand that you have control over your decisions, you choose when to react or not, I make a point of accepting my brain telling me something, and then choosing to overcome this by making a choice of what i want, not what my brain tells me i want.
