This is a 2 part video on how to Roleplay, and then how to "4D" the roleplay. But first we cover how our definition of Roleplay works.

What I'm struggling with with the premise of this is why roleplaying the entire session is better? Watching the two example games Coleville's game, while a little chaotic, looks more fun to me than the first example presented. In the first game everyone sits around with long pauses awkwardly debating what their character would say vs the second game where people seem to be talking more naturally and enjoying themselves.

it takes some practice and the guys in the examples are not "practiced roleplayers" It's like me giving my guitar to a buddy who knows nothing about guitar, but I manage to show him "smoke on the water"... it doesn't make him a guitarist. If you like wasting your time on not-playing the game and just want to talk mechanics and percentages and what you ate for dinner in real-life... sure enjoying a social non-game related stuff is cool but we reserve that for after the game session. What we strive for is as close to movie pacing as possible. We don't always accomplish it and we show our warts and all in our own liveplays. (and we talk about applying corrections to our own gaming)

I like this video format Rick.

Im using this directly for my german friend-circle of players. Already got one player agreeing that 4D sounds like alot of fun and that he wants to get away from the constant 1D interruption from players and 2D play just isn't as cool and wastes time.

I feel so bad for the people who feel the need to employ these types of tricks in order to have fun roleplaying. I'm less mad and more sad for them.

This guy didn't pass the vetting process.

Very nice, sharable, I suppose there is no way around the sharp edges - sometimes a drastic change is much easier than a small incremental one! Keeping 100% in character is a hard sell, but it must be done!!

This is one of the most pretentious things I've ever heard of and is objectively bad for the hobby. This "theory" is basically wrong on every level.

@@SHONNER Nah, I'm a role player, just not a Amos one. I'm also not a play actor. I don't feel the need to perform a play jsut to feel immersed. I guess my imagination is just better than yours. I don't need little tricks to get into the game.

@@ishmiel21 Hey, Rick. This guy calling us LARPers. Gosh. We're actors now, all of a sudden? He didn't even watch the video.
