@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
Hi! There's really no lucky number of how many hours to study. It depends on a lot of different factors including how well you understand the content and your study efficiency. When you are studying, make sure to focus on your weaknesses and understanding concepts rather than memorisation. Feel free to check out my other videos about studying and year 12 :)

Hey mate. I’m really confused how to get into the Flowmodoro technique and use it? Do you just go into the flow state by removing all distractions and set a timer for 25 minutes?? Sorry I’m very confused please help me understand, I watched your video on it and don’t understand sorry..
@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
Hi Azn, You put a timer that counts up instead of counting down and as soon as you lose focus, stop the timer, divide the time you studied by 5 and that's your study break. Hope that helps! Please let me know any other questions you have!
@aznatyles76263 жыл бұрын
So basically when I get home, I will start a timer as I enter the flow state and when I lose focus - say like 45 minutes, then I take a 9 minute break? Do I just repeat the process once I run out of time and need to go to bed? Also isn’t there a chance of you getting burnt out with this method as you could work hours to end without getting distracted?
@aznatyles76263 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info Archer, appreciate it!

Also why divide by 5? Just curious. Also did you make the flow modoro?

Hii I am doing Physics, Bio, Maths ext 1, Eng adv, business study and PDHPE. In year 12 i want to drop out of 1 subject. I'm not sure if I should keep Business or PDHPE. I am good and like both. So, I want to keep the one that scales the highest. But i dont know which scales high. Can u please recommend me which one i should keep?
@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I didn't do those subjects in year 12 SACE so I don't know the scaling. In general, you should choose the subject that you think you can achieve higher in. Maybe also look at the assessment types - whether there's an exam, written assignments, tests, oral presentations, etc. - and how well those play to your strengths too. Hope that helps :)
@Zellbell93 жыл бұрын
Hey, I’m doing pretty much the same subjects except chemistry instead of physics haha. I’m in that position with economics and pe and I believe that pe and business studies are sorta similar in high amounts of content that isn’t particularly difficult. For me I’m keeping PE because I want to do something like med or pharmacy and could always fall back on physio or exercise science or something like that which I’d have to have PE for.

How does one achieve a 99.95 ATAR? Does it mean they have maintained something like a 95% average in 4 subjects in their last year of highschool? Utterly confused! XD
@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! ATARs rank students against each other, with a 99.95 meaning that someone has achieved in the top 0.05% of their state. So you can't calculate or predict the percentage for a subject because it will change each year depending on how well students across the whole state perform. Hope that helps :)

When did u start doing exams? And how many did you do?
@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
I started doing full practice exams like 1 month out from exams. Doing full practice exams is the last part of a good exam strategy and if done earlier, means the focuses and prioritisation is in the wrong place. I did quite a few in year 12 and now do zero in university.
