What is beautiful about this interview to me is 1. Two amazing energies that I love watching are at the same table and 2. Listening to the timeline of when some of the challenges were being dealt with, points to times when each were helping other people become better. You never know what someone else is struggling with no matter what it looks like on the outside. Hence, don't wait to perfect yourself before moving forward. The process can transform you. Lastly, the spiritual convo was refreshing. @lewishowes you eloquently expressed your beliefs of Truth.

Gentlemen - LOVE this conversation. Your missions are the same and yet you are SO DIFFERENT. Lewis' path feels very aligned to mine, mission, healing wounds, peace, harmony and simple (not easy) KNOWING when you are on the right track. I love Tom and every time I listen to Tom I hear unresolved wounding. Push. Almost anger. This is not a judgement - no right / no wrong:-). I just feel like I want to give Tom a massive hug and say - it's OK. I love you both - thank you for being such inspirations!

I have watched Lewis for a few years now. This is the most informative conversation. I am the female version of him. He is so amazing how he breaks this down. He is vulnerable and it's so attractive coming from a man. Go Lewis.. you're a beautiful human!! You are the best at being true to yourself and understand it helps so many of us in this crazy world. You're unstoppable.

This is beautiful :). I am listening to two of the three to five podcasters that I believe played a strong role in leading me out of a very dark place I felt stuck in for much of 2020. You are both doing a wonderful job inspiring others and giving useful suggestions to implement change ~ body, mind, and spirit. Im so grateful for the algorithm that led me to each of your shows. What a truly fascinating and important blessing of a conversation this was to witness! I've been delving into it every here and there over the past month and it gave me so much to think about. I bought Lewis's book because of this interview and I'm almost halfway through. I seriously recommend this book to anyone. I suffer from anxiety and the exercises it gives us in the first chapter finally put clear words onto my Meaningful Mission. I felt like I've always sort of known, but being able to see the common thread throughout my whole life and making it as clear as possible finally put my mind at peace. I am honestly surprised by the accuracy of the exercises. Thank you so much Lewis for your book, and thanks Tom for introducing me to Lewis Howes!

I've grown more in the past 2 months that I have in the past 5 years by being my authentic self as much as possible. I've reduced the frequency to which I people please, say "yes" to things I've wanted to say "no" to, put others before myself, say what I think others want/expect me to say, and allow others to step on my boundaries. I feel much lighter and freer! Yes I've pushed some people away because my authentic self repulses some people. But I've found more people who accept me for who I am and vice versa and more people who operate on the same wavelength. I'm building a personal network of people who encourage each other to belong--that is to be accept for their authentic self--instead of fitting in.

@@Eserr7856 I try to assess things from everyone's perspective as objectively as possible. For example, I was recently ghosted by a woman who was officially diagnosed with borderline. It would be easy to just say she was crazy, it was all her fault, and wallow in sour grapes. But I knew I was I was signing up for and decided to play with fire and got burned. Since I'm extremely familiar with borderline, there were no surprises and the trajectory of the relationship went as I anticipated. Also, I took note of all my actions/reactions and her action/reactions and came up with an objective analysis (with the help of my therapist) similar to a psychology case study. A co-dependent person may predominately blame themselves for not being perfect enough for such a person. A narcissist may place nearly all the blame on the other person. Me, I'm somewhat co-dependent, mildly narcissistic, and have a mildly fearful-avoidant attachment style. I'm hyper-aware of how my traumatic childhood shaped my personality and the certain mal-adaptive traits I've developed. I hold myself accountable for the actions I took that would be considered in poor taste regardless of who I was interacting with, with the understanding that acting in that manner with someone with borderline would lead to an extremely more volatile reaction. I basically analyze all my social interactions as case studies that involves viewing things from the lens of every person I interact with.

If anyone is listening to the Salsa Dancing part and is/are worried about trying the dance style; remember to practice rotating the hips in the figure 8 motion, from up to down, side to side, and forward/backward, in the mirror at home. Make doing all 3 motions in one motion, and make it fluid, (keeping your shoulders stable the whole time) and no one will laugh at you because you'll already know how to move yourself.

I really recommend the Book Journey of Souls by Michael Newton. It might give you a hint about what happens after our physical bodies turn off 🙂 Interesting "fact" from this book is there's a guide who confronts you about what you've missed on in your past life and what hints were given to you that you haven't capitalised on. So you're probably not that far off when you imagine there's a confrontation between who you were and who you've should have been. Great episode, love both of you.

Hi Tom and Lewis. Thanks for this interview. I just wanted to say, I found it interesting hearing your talking about the afterlife/nothingness after death. The reason I found this interesting is because I am a Christian. I believe in life after death, and even a new physical body- for those who are saved for eternal life by trusting Jesus- a new body which will never decay or age or get ill. That the Bible even says that there will be a new physical earth... one that isn't messed up and full of suffering... but one that is full of love and peace and happiness with God. I pray that if anyone reads this comment, that they would know how real Jesus is... that you can even know Him now, and talk to Him. That He can make us in right standing with God, so that we are able to come back to life in a new body when Jesus returns. I just wanted to put forth my belief in Jesus, and pray for people to know Him. But no one can force anyone to believe in anything, only let them know, and therefore give them the opportunity!

I think it is very important to talk about God and spirituality because alot of self-help channels are solely focused on "the self" being the master and creator, the end all and be all of one's life in this world. I think self help can only take one so far because this is a very competitive world and not every one has the same "luck" depending on so many variables outside of our control, health, environment, race, income, country. That is why belief in God as the author and master of our lives is so important to have confidence and peace even if things do go the way we wanted even with self help, hard work, etc.

Look at the sunlight warming the day. The light you see has traveled over ninety-million miles to greet you. These rays arrive, one after another, every instant to brighten the world around you. But if you were to hold up a convex lens, you would experience even more of its power. Imagine harnessing the power of your mind like a convex lens. Like cars merging when lanes are reduced, you can concentrate your thoughts together. What could you switch off today so that all your power might converge like rays of the sun brought into a focus?

Please excuse my question I have been trying to figure this out. If we’re an idea 💡 feelings aren’t real -why do painful experiences, physical rape impact us constantly if it’s not really occurring & it’s in our mind. Why bother dealing with the past and why is it a bad rap to just disassociate ? perhaps I’m not really very clear but if anyone can help with this question I’d appreciate it. Lewis your are loved. Sure I am the most imperfect person. For myself, if I write books or blogs, I benefit from them the most, because I get clarity... Success is not important, to me. It is important to serve the Lord, to connect to the Lord... All the other things are too superficial, and in the end, they don't help us... Who are You? What is God for you? What is your real mission? Are You happy with your life? What do you regret? A moment of joy or happiness is not a lost moment. (Chinese proverb)

How do you counter hopelessness if a relationship you really wanted fails? If she was a 10, ambitious, beautiful, continuous like you? I’ve been working for 8 months straight more than 16hrs a day at home to start businesses to get her back but I know I won’t get the respect if I take the first step as I was betrayed. I drive a car with 300,000 miles and look good but now it’s time to step back out into the world and get a job to fund my businesses. I don’t want a woman who’s not ambitious and feel like giving up on her is giving up on myself. Some might say I never give up but it’s taking it’s toll and I’m slowly loosing. Best regards, Jon.
@Eserr7856

I don't think you should seek your self worth or your value from somebody that is not yourself, because you said "giving up on her is giving up on yourself". Work hard and be ambitious for yourself. Then the right woman will come along and be attracted to your character because that is who you are and not because you are doing that to manipulate a woman into being attracted to you
