1. Memorize your lines 2. Know what your character wants 3. Play around with a scene, don’t stick with one decision (acting is reacting and people are not robots) 4. Know your moments before 5. Text analysis (write down all of the facts about your character and implement them) 6. Start asking yourself “why?” (Why is your character doing what he’s doing) 7. Don’t talk to loud, talk in your natural frequency 8. Watch out for big body movements (don’t exaggerate anything) 9. Eyes are telling the story 10. Have fun with the process

I want to add something to point number one, 1:46 is as far as I’ve watched so far so idk if he mentions it but You can’t do it alone, sure if it’s a monologue and only a monologue than that’s fine, but if you are in the scene with somebody else than you need to practice with somebody else, it’s a mistake I’ve constantly made and it’s lead me to be less confident when it counts. So it doesn’t matter who your working with it could be somebody you barely know or your sibling but it is so much easier when you work with somebody when your memorizing

I have a question for you: you said that we only need to find and know the real facts and not our opinions, but I thought instead that based on what I learn about my character I could then invent new information to give more creativity and richness to my character (e.g. I thought about creating her past, her favorite songs, items that she would buy or that would make her happy, even maybe a zodiac sign and stuff like that; anything that would make me feel more connected to my character). Is this wrong? Could this distract me from my real character? Should I let go those things and just focus on the real, scripted facts? And thank you very very much because this video is a gem🙌

How to act realistically Working on memorization skill..very important.. U shud know characters wants..mannerisms way of talk changes wid the situations Shud be able to adjust n be flexible n act accordingly to instructions of CD do script in different way Emotion before the scene can change the scene Text analysis-writing facts in a piece of paper den writing things I dono..I see dat looking at facts I realize I know few don't knows based on knowing facts Why- ask why ur doing wt ur doing behind ur scene Talking too loud during Dialogues is not gud.sometime u have to yell not always example somebody is abt to get hit by a bus n u have to yell Too much movement is not good.u have to do it in a frame Eyes- shud act for you.ppl shud be able to look at ur eyes 80 percent of tym Having fun in the process during audition never break down never stop putting effort

To become an actor should we go to film school or even think of going there to get better in our skills? Please reply
@emerald.gunncahill2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's 100% necessary. However, I studied acting for film and within them three years I can safely say my skill and confidence greatly improved. I wouldn't be where I am today without it. It also offers the opportunity for you to be surrounded by other creatives. Not everyone's path is the same though. There are plenty of short courses out there if that's more your thing and of course loads of resources online. Whichever path you take you just need to know that it's going to take work, practice and passion.
