agree! further, from my experience to accept whatever outcome may come for losing fear and overthinking, u need a basic trust in your own self & capabilities to handle any situation that evolves. To gain this confidence you basically need life experience, which you can't purely fake (even tho i believe in a simple 'fake it till you make it' mindset). This experience you only get by moving out of your comfort zone in exactly the situations you worry and overthink about. Give yourself a simple single small push each and every day, take pause some few days if you don't feel capable at all but slowly and steadily you'll view yourself from 3rd person perspective with your success and losening overthinking

@@nackjicholson1940 the problem is when your meditating you seak a goal to whilst theres no point to the journey its like music or dancing when a composer makes music he doesn't fight to reach the end of the song but to make the song itself but if that was not the point the songs that end faster wouldve been the most famous so in summary its not about the destination its about the journey becausethe journey is the point so if you truly want to meditate this is my tip:sit down anywhere be it in your room, livingroom etc but it should be quiet try to close your eyes and try to clear your mind if that's too hard just let your thoughts be and listen to the sounds aroundyou as if your listeningto a song and relax you'll notice all your thoughts will start to fade away. I think the fact that our overthinking can be traced back to the ego is because we are too attached to our identities. We would feel rather safer labeling ourselves as this and that. If we can be secured with who we are and be able to accept our strengths as well as our flaws, we will slowly but surely stop the overthinking.

For myself -loving the unknown Stop structure your day, try new things -be less outcome independent Be ok for things not happenning the way we want -learn to love failure Failure = character building Embrace failure Love success even more -Identify your trigger Related to your Ego (you are holding to that so much identity) -“I am doing this because…” Reframe your overthinking Watch your thoughts -you are not always gonna be in that ‘identity’ Let go of attachment -meditate and watch how we are feeling Slow down the mind -stop guessing what will happen next It’s probably not gonna be as bad as you think If it does, you will adjust, things will get better - Judge LESS judge less about everyone and yourself Watch how you talk, the energy affect that things directly -Communication Don’t guess what other people are thinking Just communicate with others Talk to yourself / journal Put your thought on paper -“IT DOESN’T MATTER” Life is a play and we all just here experiencing it

Omg yes don’t be scared of thoughts that you have, that’s a tip that worked for me. Embrace your thoughts bc their just thoughts and that’s all they are. They will pass, but you can choose to let the ones you prefer to be the ones you obsess instead of bad or painful thoughts/memories. Same with feelings, they will pass, they don’t tell everything about you, their just there to tell you about you, just forgive yourself for being human. Forgive yourself for being you, even if others get mad or don’t like it, you have to be who you are. Mistakes and all, failures and all.

I liked that example about the person who said you 'owned the room' because you walked in with a straight posture. It said everything about him, and nothing about you. My coworkers used to comment on me being competitive and thinking I knew everything when I really just didn't want to make any mistakes, and wanted to do my personal best. After they said that, I dimmed my light and became quiet and self conscious- because I didn't want to bother them. But I realize now, part of it had to do with their insecurity. I learned to be more considerate of people after that comment. But at the same time, I realize I didn't need to get down on myself for trying my best.

Give a try to meditation but with a really really patient mindset. Don't panic or get disappointed when it doesn't work -it actually only seems so. Eventually, after some months you ll realise all of a sudden that you are somehow a bit less stressed. It will be a tiny step, but it ll be very rewarding and encouraging, because it ll prove that you can actually be less stressed and that's enough for building up to eventually greater progress. Believe it or not, you can reach a point of almost zero stress. On a practical side, pick up a guided meditation video today, and practice. Better choose a short session, even 5 minutes is enough. And for five minutes do that. It won't work, you ll still be overthinking. Next day do it again. Here comes the whole embrace failure thing. Have a time frame, like a year. For a year I ll be meditating for 5 minutes a day no Matter what. You ll be surprised that one day, probably way earlier than the one year timeline, you ll be able to meditate more and realise you are less stressed! I hope this helps, just words from a random stranger that was (and sometimes still is) in the same situation 😊😊

stay strong^^ i have an anxiety disorder and depression, which is a terrible combination, haha. i really wish you the best, and i know you can overcome this. for me, it helps looking back at my past, and thinking about things i was pretty much obsessed worrying about, and realizing, that they no longer bother me at all. i’ve found some channels on youtube that help me manage my anxiety and realize that these thoughts are just thoughts, and not the reality. these channels help me feel (and be) more rational, since anxiety can be very irrational. i genuinely hope you’ll be able to feel a little lighter, because on those days it’s easier to find motivation and look at the future with more hope^^

This is spot on... The tricky part of overthinking is that when there is never a break, it feels completely real. As if you created a world for yourself. Based of past experience. For instance the things we think that other people MIGHT think. Recently I realised how real I made this "thoughtworld" for myself. As if I was reading minds all the time. Reading minds before someone even could think their thoughts, and then changing the predicted future (their thoughts) by not acting. 🤣 It's crazy how the mind can play these tricks on us. The end mantra is truly real: it doesn't matter. The feeling meditation must be very valuable, as it can help us to stay present in unpleasent emotions. Like fear for instance. As is said in the beginning, the overthinking is usually the brain's way to make sense and control the emotion. When we can tolerate fear, sit with it, there is no need for us to make sense of it. We just let it be, and that is usually indeed when creative problem solving can come in. Thanks for the video! Also loved the vulnerability, made it very real for me.

I’ve done it. Idk that it makes sense but I’ve achieved this mindset. Where I learned to accept others and myself and just be neutral. You know like hearing something rather odd and judging it but then catching yourself and correcting it. I was able to do this with most things. But I’m watching this video because I’m currently in a weird spot where I am so disorganized in my life. It just feels weirdly chaotic to me. But it really isn’t. It’s ok. And now I need to get back to that mindset

I’m so thankful for you brother, I just turned 22 a month ago, and been having so many realizations. I’m getting older, and I had so many issues, I kept falling and falling into the same traps over and over again. Then one day, I just said enough. I got sober, and my life has only been getting better. I was having an issue with accountability and one of my friends decided for him self that he was doing sober July, and I saw that and said can I join you so we can both be accountable? And he said yes. We got drunk and high a few hours before the clock struck midnight, and the journey started. If I attempted this challenge just a few month ago, I probably would have fell through. But something just clicked, and I did it for my self. And no one else. That is when I made it conscious that I am living for my self, that I am living and doing things to better my life and the people I care about. But I do see my issue with over thinking I am working on becoming better and will do my best to keep at it. I’d love to connect with you sometime, I’m starting a podcast and would love to have you for 30 minutes 😊

Discovered this video some days back and saved it in watch later. Now that i watched it, it helped me gain a new perspective and awareness about myself and my thought process. Many things you said resonated with me a lot and the solutions for it and the in depth analysis of it was amazing. Imma save it for later aswell if in near future i end up in the same situation I can always count on this video. I instantly subscribed aswell ❣️Thanks a lot 🥂✨

I thank the KZbin algorithm gods for requesting this video. I've heard some of this stuff before, but the straightforward way you say these things makes it more clear. It's so incredibly hard for me to get things out of my head like judgements and assumptions, and sometimes it feels like it's driving me crazy. Thank you for the advice.

Incredibly articulated. I've been so stuck in the rut of now and the fear of where I am going that I've become directionless, as if that in some way would protect me from possible failure. You can't succeed in this world without risking failure too. Thanks for the session, brother.

For the past months I've been focussing on self improvement a lot and also on my overthinking and I have I agree with all your tips, especially talking to myself about the overthinking, identifying my triggers and being less outcome dependent really have helped me. Life really is just a rollercoaster and we're along for a ride, there's nothing that you can change about the future by thinking a whole lot of thoughts.

The examples you gave really helped me visualize better the way I overthink - about the dad getting late to the son's basketball game really hit close to home, especially as someone who never wants to be late to work because "I have to give the impression that I'm hard-working and always on time". Great video!

What I do that I found works best is to practice being present throughout the day. The past and future are just human concepts they’re not real, so there’s no point in clinging on to them and overthinking about them. In presence there’s no problems, no worry, no stress, no hatred, no guilt, it’s just pure peace. Really humans are designed by nature to be mostly present, and only use our memories or guess about the future when we really need to as a tool, and not overuse them like it’s no big deal, anxiety and depression are two major symptoms of this.
