Thanks for the video. Have you ever updated the firmware on official wireless adapter for the xbox? A couple of notes on the video, really just thoughts. You could technically ground the power wire to one of the motherboard mounts or one of the screws on the dvd drive base. I understand why it wouldn't be recommended. Lastly, the ethernet extension cable isn't technically necessary. You could actually buy flat ethernet cable and run it back thru the vents of the case. Obviously this would require crimping cat5 ends. Or drilling a small hole to pull round ethernet cable.

How is the speed compared to the regular wireless adapter or being wired? Does it bottleneck?

Hi there. I don't know if it is really comparable but I use an old Linksys WRT54G router with dd-wrt on it as a wireless Bridge an it does at least 1.5MB/s, but mostly 2.5 to 3.2MB/s in G standard. Or did you mean 800KB/s when Xbox is far away from the router? OK, my Linksys has 2 7dBi antennas and probably more tx power than that small bridge but because I have the router almost invisible under the TV where the Xbox stands, the antennas need to be horizontally orientated, what is far from optimal. Anyways, great video.

OGX360 is a mod that allows any controller to be used with OG Xbox and Project Stellar is a mod which allows Xbox One controllers to be used with OG xbox.

I wonder why not just solder wires from wireless to the xbox Lan port? No cutting and extra thick wires and ugly connector at the back :) That is how im gonna do it for sure

Thanks for the vid but looks more tedious than it's worth. If anything I'd just run a *fused* 5/12V power cable out the back and let the adapter hang. + those old gaming adapter's are only G and that can slow down the rest of your devices on a modern N network when used concurrently. Just bypass the internal transformer of any budget AP/repeater (with LAN) and run power directly to it.

+Tinker Mods is there an easy way to remove and mod the xbox jewel on top? Preferably one that doesn't involve freezing it and using a hammer?

I use a heat gun (Hair dryer works too) and dental floss for the jewels

get the top of the xbox in a freezer for 30 mins and than wack the lid from the back 2 to 4 times and the jewel pops off with no reisdue of the glue to be removed

There should be a way to do this so you don't need to use the tiny ethernet cable or cut a hole in the case

Doing this allows you to still use wired connection.

"Wireless Gaming Adapter" is such a generic term :( Can you provide any more specifics to the brand/model number/reference numbers from the board etc that could be used to find that style WiFi board? I'm in the UK, so with shipping and then Customs/VAT Duty due upon arrival it's not really worth buying the kit (Because the price would double and possibly even more than double)
