It is a small allen wrench used for adjusting trigger and also for holding the hammer still. Good video.

The red handled tool you show is the Trigger adjustment tool. The tool I used to prevent the action from turning was the narrow end of the anti-tamper rod which you have to remove to strip the Gladius. It is unnecessary to replace it on the rebuild so it made the ideal tool.I only tried your method because I wanted only to reduce the noise of the hammer impacting the air valve on mine running at the 11.40 UK legal but sadly it did not work. More thought and work required for that.

This is a great video here but I must share my bad XP in doing it this way. The tool with the orange handle was meant to be used for adjusting the trigger. This tool can and will shear off inside the rifle if the hammer slides forward. It happened a couple times. The first time I didnt realize the tool was shorter and well.. anyways. I suggest you use a long number 1 or 2 allen wrench instead as they will not shear. Why does the bolt slip and shear the tool you may ask? Well it has to do with the sensitivity of the trigger setting IMHO. I have had a few instances where the bolt lunges forward while adjusting the hammer spring and thats all I can figure. GL everyone and thanks for the video it's good stuff but that tool is subject to breakage. Oh and should you shear off a piece it can be found if you unscrew the air cylinder and you look down inside that cavity. Tweezers or a magnetized screwdriver are your friend. Peace
@OneFun717 жыл бұрын
Oh and this means ofc, if your trigger is set to lite and your rifle is cocked; you stand a good chance of the rifle going off if you attempt to adjust the hammer spring without a locking tool in place. I have seen people adjust the spring on other rifles while its cocked and loaded on a bench pointed down range. Just keep this in mind.
@dugshooter51968 жыл бұрын
you said counter clockwise for both adjustments. i would assume counter clockwise will lighten the hammer spring.
@cheapshot6518 жыл бұрын
Sorry, that's why I put the text box in at around 2:04 and covered it in the video description. No, to lighten the hammer strike turn clockwise.

I followed these instructions and turned and turned with no effect on the pellet velocity. I noticed as I turned, the hammer itself was rotating. My thought was that with the spring cocked and under pressure, the screw was not turning in the hammer and that my adjustment was useless. Sure enough, I tried it without cocking, and magic, 2/3rds of a turn was worth about 100 fps on my long. I have seen a lot of discussions as to whether the Gladius and Bullboss hammer springs are actually adjustable. I suspect that the instruction to cock the hammer in this video, is the reason.

For me it's been about getting that rod/spike in the hammer hold hole. It's easy to miss. You have to feel for it for sure.

So turn counter clockwise to increase more air and continuing turn counter clockwise to decrease air ?
@cheapshot6516 жыл бұрын
Counter clockwise to increase air pressure and clockwise to decrease. They don't let you edit with text on the video to fix things like this. I typically have to do these videos at the end of the day and make some verbal errors. Sorry about that. The next one to upload has me calling the gun the wrong name. Twice. 🙃

@cheapshot whats the difference b/w this adjustment and power nob on the gladius?
@drmimimi8 жыл бұрын
I tryed to adjust my Gladius .22 short, but it did not work. I stick the small wrench from the side and I cannnot turn the 4mm wrench in the back. I don't put the wrench from the side, the hummer just keep turning as you mentioned. Any idea?
@cheapshot6518 жыл бұрын
If the hammer is moving then you don't have the smaller wrench in the correct position. You can feel, through the small wrench, the resistance of you turning the 4mm wrench making the adjustment. It's kind of tricky. Take the handle all the way back and then slightly forward. You should be able to feel the small wrench drop into place ever so slightly. Hope that works, let me know.

Hi what is the difference between this adjustment and power nob on the gladius? (6 stages regulator)
@schweepy_g5 жыл бұрын
Adjusting the hammer spring like this affects the tension of the spring that drives the hammer to strike the valve that lets air out. Less tension = softer hit to the valve and less air. More tension = harder hit to the valve and more air. Turning the power setting knob on the gun affects the size of the transfer port opening, which is the hole that air travels through to get to the pellet. Larger hole = more air. Smaller hole = less air.

what's the adjustment range? I want to buy sub 12 UK version but I want to be able to take it over as soon as my FAC arrives and was wondering what's the max power I can get out of it using this adjustment? Do I need to change spring or pellet probe to take it to lets say 20-25ftlb?
@cheapshot6518 жыл бұрын
I have no experience with the UK version. I know on the US version you can get sub 12 fpe by just using the power selector out of the box regardless of caliber. I'm guessing on the UK version you get 6 different settings of sub 12 fpe? Kind of overkill in pointlessness maybe?
@nickmactools8 жыл бұрын
Cheap Shot the UK version has no power adjuster and is set to 11.2-5 ft-lb. can't see your way of adjustment working on a UK model
@cheapshot6518 жыл бұрын
So you're saying the UK version has a hammer that is factory adjusted only? That makes sense if that's the case.
@nickmactools8 жыл бұрын
Yes, no power adjuster external at all. Apparently you can strip completely to adjust internals, but if you are caught over 12ftlb without an FAC licence, it's 5 years minimum jail time.
