I like your way to explaining the adjustments - every comment that has a negative to it they need to make their own video so we can comment on them - its easy to be negative against someone else -- make your own video so we can we can dance a little and then leave a comment or two

Hi your video is extremely helpful. Thank you so much! I still can't quite solve my garage door problem though. I wonder if you can shed some light for me. Here's the thing: The chain is very loose on the "close door side" as if it's trying to close more but get stopped, so I try to adjust the "close more" dial, by dialing it back a bit. 1. if I dial it back just enough so that chain is nice and tight, opener can't open door. It can only close door. 2. if I dial in forward just a little bit so that chain is loose, door will bounce back as soon as it touches ground, as if it tries to travel/close more but hit obstacle and thus bounces back What else can I adjust?

In the winter my chain on my opener snaps real hard at closure causing the door to come back up several times . So am I needing to simply adjust the closure travel screw on the side? My unit is a linear brand.

Good video. Just looking to see if you could help me figure this out. All of a sudden my garage door will not close all the time. It will start to go down, then stop and come back up. I have managed to get it to close about two times when I adjusted the two screws on the side of the door opener, but it went back to not closing again. Any ideas? Thank you...

I have a one year old Craftsman garage door opener that keeps on reversing on it own for no appearance reason. Every time I attempt to close the door, it travels down to about 2-4" from the floor before it reverses. Both sensor indicator lights are on and there is no obstruction. please help and thanks

My garage door opener tries to shut my door before it decides to start opening it. Then it stops after a foot and I have to repeat the process of starting and stopping it until its fully open. What might be causing this? The hazard lights don't blink, the bottom sensors are aligned and the door will completely shut from top to bottom with only one push of the button. Any ideas? its a liftmaster btw.

I have a chain operated opener (overhead doors Legacy 696) and every time I open it, it goes too high and ends up knocking the trolly out of wack. There is a button the the back that is labeled limiter. i press it, it starts to open and then i press it again to stop it where it shoulds stop. then i return it back down. but the memory doesnt stay and it goes too high when ever i try to open the door normally. Am i using the limiter wrong?
@DDMGarageDoors
@DDMGarageDoors 3 жыл бұрын
Hi videoviper1! It sounds like you were using the limiter button properly, because it should be to set the upper and lower limits of travel so that you have your door set as to how high it can go in opening, and how low it can go in closing. You may need to replace something in the internal side of things of the opener; if its memory is gone, it may need a new circuit board, limit switch, or limit worm gear. Unfortunately, we do not sell parts for this opener, so our experience and assistance is limited in this area.

Hi ALIEN CHASER! It sounds like it's likely something with your photo eyes. They may be slightly out of alignment and trying to let you know, or something could come in the way of their sight when you open/close the door.

Your vision. Guessing it is going down a little extra (reduce its travel) or was installed that way maybe but a thicker gasket seal to keep light/air our some. Check the rollers call this guy since you wrote this good question and he did not respond for 3 years

Hi Paul! This could be an issue with your top seal of your door, or an issue with the door not being balanced. We have another video on our channel called "How to Balance Your Garage Door" that you should check out. Hopefully, that will prove helpful to you.

+Larry White Larry, it would probably be best if you call DDM Garage Doors at 800-383-9548 M-F 8 AM to 6 PM CT. You'll probably need one of the conversion kits available at ddmgaragedoors.com/parts/torsion_spring_hardware.html, a shaft from ddmgaragedoors.com/parts/shafts_couplers.html, and one or two of our springs from ddmgaragedoors.com/springs/standard-torsion-springs.php#database. We will first need the width and height of your door. Then we'll need the weight or model and serial number. You'll find a lot of helpful information on our tutorial page at ddmgaragedoors.com/diy-instructions/.

Why does my garage door close and then open back up after it hit the ground?
@DDMGarageDoors
@DDMGarageDoors 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sirlee Outdoorsmen! It could be for a number of reasons; your springs could be too strong for the door or they could be wound up too many times if they are the correct springs for the door. You should wind your springs 30 quarter turns (7.5 full turns) if the door is a 7' tall door, and 34 quarter turns if the door is 8' tall. This also may give you some helpful information as well: ddmgaragedoors.com/blog/2015/11/03/a-balanced-garage-door/

@DDMGarageDoors
@DDMGarageDoors 4 жыл бұрын
Hi lifeisgood070! The force adjustment knobs should be located close to your travel limits. They will be similar in that they will have two knobs as well (one for the door going up, and the other for when the door is going down). They may be on the other side of the opener, or on the same side as the travel limits, depending on the model.
