Hi, I have fine hair, I prefer to shower before bed so washing hair then as well, however when I get up on morning my hair is very frizzy, and no idea how to tame it, I worry all the products you mentioned will be too much for during sleep, can you do video for people who prefer hair wash at night please? Or signpost me to video, I cannot find specific one!

Having fine hair is really frustrating when it comes to drying, at least for me… my hair takes hours to dry so it’s often wet when I go to bed. Hair is super fragile when it’s wet, so you have to be careful when it’s still wet while you sleep. I gently wrap my hair in a bun shape at the back of my head and put a silk bonnet over it. This way it reduces the friction from just a pillowcase, and the bun shape prevents too much friction from inside the cap too. It also can give my straight hair some waves :) So I would recommend a silk or satin bonnet/ sleeping cap to keep your hair in place at night. For some people however sleeping with a bonnet over wet hair can make your scalp itchy, or is just uncomfortable. In this case I would recommend a braid or other protective & comfortable hair style. You might be able to use a leave in conditioner/ hair oil on your wet hair to further protect it. I’m still having hair problems so none of this is a miracle, but it’s helped a little bit. So keep trying gentle ways to protect your hair; I hope you find the special combination that works for you.

I would also highly recommend not sleeping on wet hair at all! It’s very damaging for a lot of different hair types as there’s friction with your pillow and it doesn’t dry properly when part of it is pressed against a surface. Air dry your hair fully with the right products before hitting the hay.

Silk/satan bonnet while tying up into a bun at the top of your head can help a lot. Using air dry cream for it dry faster too.
