How do you lock off the rope using the holes on the winder? Still confused on that bit
@jackgrant18622 жыл бұрын
Same, did you figure it out ?
@truckernz822 жыл бұрын
@@jackgrant1862 yeah I did. Creat a loop in the rope push that through on of the holes in the handle and loop it all the way over the whole thing. Best I can describe it
@jackgrant18622 жыл бұрын
@@truckernz82 that’s how I imagined it in my mind, thanks a heap mate I really appreciate it.

Great Video. I am NEW to Kayak Fishing and have learned a lot from your videos. I Know this Video is a few years old but I would love to know the design/ shape of the board you have your anchor rope winded on. I Have searcheed different Kayak Videos and the way you have tou rope wrapped looks very good to me and I would love to copy that design if available. I stop your video and try to get a good look at it but it is hard for my old 70 year old eyes to see. Thank You And I hope you make more videos for me to learn from you with. I am trying to do my quick release syatem based on what you are showing how to do.

Good video. One question though: at 7:12 you talk about locking off the trope after letting out the desired length. What is a good way of locking it?
@NZkayakfishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! The anchor winders that hold the rope available in the Rob Fort Series range have a design that allows you to lock off the rope to the desired length which allows for depths up to 30 meters. The winder holds 50 meters of 5 mm rope. Check out the website for more info: robfortseries.co.nz/Kayak-Anchoring-Systems/index.php/

Thank you for the tutorial, I'll remove my zip tie and replace it with mono

Awesome and glad you enjoyed it, the mono is a much better option considering all the worlds problems with plastic.

Hey Rob, interested in this quick release system. Just bought a yak and haven't gone out yet. What happens if you get a big fish on and you don't have the quick release system? Does it stuff the pulley system?
@NZkayakfishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey nothing will happen to a normal running anchor system. As far as big fish on the line goes and anchoring it all comes down to what anchor you are using. Fixed can be an issue because you are stuck in one position so the fish will run and take line. In this situation you can only hang on and wait for it to stop. If using a drift chute u will get towed but the chute will still stop you getting on top of the fish unless you pull it in cheers

Very thoughtful video, Rob. Great job on covering all the different types of anchors. Are the mussel farms any good for fishing in the Winter?
@NZkayakfishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Salt n Freshwater. As for winter fishing in the farms yes they can fish okay especially with the warmer water temperatures hanging around longer this season.
