I wanted the "doodle" look coz it would be easier .... but boiling lines would put extra work. LOL! But at least it's mindless work, not deciding things like key frames. Thank you!!
@kdsketch9 ай бұрын
I love this technique SO much but it is a lot more work -- unless the animation program you're using has an effect you can apply to add the boil! (Blender has the Noise Filter within Grease Pencil which I LOVE so I've been using that more often). Doing it manually is pretty chill, definitely no pressure like actually animating keys haha :) Hope your animation goes well!

Thanks. It was how I expected it to work, but I needed to see it to feel assured. Wikipedia calls this "Squigglevision", and my intention is actually to make my animation process simpler using this technique because I can use more "static" drawings and still keep the animation looking lively.

This videos old as hecc now so im not sure if you still reply to comments but I thought i'd ask anyway. I'm pretty new to animation and really love this effect, my only problem is that when it comes to adding the wobble to things stuck as the head shame it looks too intense because the struggle to follow the lines of the original shape. I want to achieve amore subtle wobble but its hard! do you have any advice on this or is it more of a practice makes perfect type of thing?

Zoom in till you can make the more precise line you want :) if I’m too zoomed out then the look will be more extreme ✨

Thx I needed this! It was hard keeping the lines consistent. Also how many frames with boiling lines do I need to draw if my character is standing still? Im in 24 fps btw.
@kdsketch4 жыл бұрын
For each pose I usually draw it three or four times, making each drawing last 3 or 4 frames. If the pose is held for a longer time I then copy and paste the drawings I've done already so I don't have to redraw it over and over! Hope this helps :)

I've always been endeared to this look but never really tried it until recently. Heckin' time consuming, but definitely worth it. Really like your stuff. Those textures in the brief Glitch sequence you shared look mad! Could you possibly elaborate how you did those some time? Brush and texture creation isn't my forte, but I'd love to know more about it, especially in TVPaint. I rely a lot on Photoshop for such things at the moment.
@kdsketch6 жыл бұрын
The extra time is so worth it - especially when it all comes together at the end, and thank you, that means a lot! I'll definitely do a video on that - I was planning to make a HIMT video for Glitch like I did for the floating witch character so it's good to know that there's interest already. The textures were all done in TVP (after a lot of experimenting!) with a few of my own brushes and some TVP defaults. Since I've got all the files I can go a bit more in depth with it too :) Thanks again!

Broski, I bet that an auto boil tool wouldnt be terribly hard to implement in animation programs. Also, you could get a similar effect much easier and quicker if you liquified the drawing and smudged it around a little every frame
@kdsketch5 жыл бұрын
I think there's a way to 'auto boil' in flash but it doesn't look hand drawn. Usually I only redraw the frame once or twice and then copy and paste the frames so it really doesn't take too long (though depending on the detail in your design it's always going to vary!) I'll definitely try out the liquify/smudge when I get a minute :)
@hunterterrell99305 жыл бұрын
@@kdsketch yeah if you had a character sitting still for a long time, you could probably just oscillate between a few copied drawings. Let me know how the liquify works out for you
