Great tutorial! Can you please also explain the uses of effects in future tutorials, for example there were two effects you used in this tutorial Bend it and CC Slant both were performing same task, can you please explain why you used cc slant in bushes?
@OliverRandorff5 жыл бұрын
Ankit Jhanwar CC bend is bending the object, which is noticeable on the tree. CC slant skews the object so there is no bend. I used that on the bushes, as the bend wouldn’t be noticeable, and cc slant is easier to work with.

Hi, I imported some illustrations from photoshop and when I try to bend my illustration gets cut off. Do you have any recommendations for fixing this problem? It feels like there is a mask around the object I cant control.
@OliverRandorff4 жыл бұрын
As shown in the video, you need to drag the start and end point of the cc bend it further apart to show the entire illustration, as it bends.

@@OliverRandorff Hey Oliver.. I have the same problem... bit i did drag the start and end points. The cropping part starts when I bend the image. The image gets cutss of on the sides... Like if it were on a mask
@DanMDL4 жыл бұрын
It seems that because I imported the item from an Ilustrator vector... it only works within the space of the layer. Havent been able to get a solution
@OliverRandorff4 жыл бұрын
Daniel De Lauretis right click the illustrator layer and create shapes. That way you make it a shape layer.
@ryanholmes003 жыл бұрын
You need to make the artboard of your original layers larger. I had the same problem, they were cropping to the space of artboards. Make more space around it and it'll be fine. Hope this helps.

6:25 when I pick whip the crown position to the branches bend, the crown moves out of position into the top left corner of my screen. How do I get it to stay in place?
@monicasloane45462 жыл бұрын
I just noticed that your crown position is at 0,0. Mine is at 960, 436, however it is in the centre of the stage. When I pick whip the crown to the branch position it seems to set the crown to position 0,0.

@@monicasloane4546 same issue , can`t continue lesson , don`t find how it to solve.
@thejanfilm10 ай бұрын
Maybe way too late but for anyone having this problem, just set the position at 0,0 and then create a null, parent it to the crown and drag it manually until it's in the same spot, by doing this you'll be able to use the expression with no problem.

Amazing tutorial as always! I really needed to learn this right now for a project of mine and phew, you´re a savior! I only have one question not related to the effect itself and it's very very simple and stupid but...How can you draw a crown shape like that inside AE? I tried to do it and while it does resemble yours, mine's a lot stiffer and you can tell where the points I used to modify the curvature are located because there is a ruff noticeable bump where they are in the shape. Thanks a lot again!
@OliverRandorff5 жыл бұрын
Sabás González I’m so glad that this helped you out! I drew the tree crown in Illustrator by making 2 circles. The lower one larger than the top one. Then I deleted the lower point of the top circle and top point of the low circle. By doing this, I can connect the 2 half circles and adjust the handles for a smooth transition between them. Hope that helps!

You have to play around with the start/end of the effect. If it isn't far enough from each other, some of the illustration will disappear.

I could also make it a 5 minute video, where I run through everything, and you may only catch a thing or 2, but I don't think you would get much out of that. In my newer videos, I definitely try to keep it shorter and cut out the less important parts, but thanks for the feedback :)
