This is an amazing tutorial! Quick question: When I add wave warp to my flag, it almost looks like the flag gets cut off, almost like it's in a bounding box that's not giving it enough room? Have you experienced that before?

THis is brilliant and quite a steep learning curve. Can you give me an example of a practical application for this. Having created my flag animation is it possible to use it like a .gif file in an image composition, ie using a landscape background to a web page and displaying the flag on the page so it appears as part of the overall setting?

Hello! Great tutorial! I am working on an animation and this is really helpful! In my project, the flag is attached to a person, and I want these two to transform in scale together, and also the flag still waving. I believe this is possible, but I am an apprentice in after effects and I am just trying to learn! If you have the time and you can give me some tips on how to do that I would really appreciate it! If not that's ok, the tutorial itself is really helpful & awesome! Thanks!

Solved, PNG caused this problem. Changed it to jpg its OK but I have another problem now. My Flag has to be on a white background. My shadows looks like white :( how can I fix this?

You have to duplicate the layer so you have the flag underneath and then the shadow “map” on top. That way the shadow is on top of the flag and not the background

Oliver, you don't explain how you imported the ai file to start with. when I import mine, the bounding box is set to the document size, which then causes problems with the pinning. How do you get the bounding box tight to the ai layers? Also, your flag elements don't appear in the project panel, and i don't understand why. bw ian
@OliverRandorff4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, That’s because I use a script called Overlord to export from illustrator. Otherwise it’s quite easy to illustrate the flag directly in After Effects, if that is needed
