Thank you! Esp the "background" tool was very helpful becaus it drove me mad to duplicate the backgrpund details to EVERY single frame :D

but ur limted with the layers u can do right? like max 300? if u want a hd 4k video timelapse? so 300 layers is like 15sec to 25sec animation u can do right? what if i wanne do 1minute or 20 minutes? than what?

Hi! Yes, Procreate does have a layer limit based on the canvas size and resolution. For longer animations, you can split the animation into multiple Procreate files and then stitch them together in an editing program like Final Cut or Premiere Pro. That way, you can still achieve longer animations! Cheers!

what drawing settings do you have because my lines aren't as smooth as yours (I am new to procreate)

Thanks for this. If I want to keep some images in place whilst other images are animated how do I do this without using the background tool as they won’t be there from the beginning of the animation?
@envatotuts4 ай бұрын
In Procreate, to keep some images static while others are animated, you need to manage layers and frames carefully. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this: Set Up Your Canvas: Create a new canvas in Procreate. Go to Actions (wrench icon) > Canvas > Animation Assist to turn on the animation features. Create Static Elements: Draw or import the images that you want to keep static on separate layers. Group these layers together to keep them organized (optional). Animate Other Elements: Create new layers for the elements that you want to animate. Use Add Frame in Animation Assist to create each frame for your animation. Draw or import the animated elements frame by frame. Ensure Static Elements Stay in Place: To keep the static elements in place throughout the animation, you can duplicate these layers across all animation frames. Alternatively, you can merge the static layers into the background layer if the background will not change during the animation.

Do you recommend an iPad pro or is the iPad air sufficient for making animations on procreate?
@bear518020 күн бұрын
All depends how much you are trying to animate, but the iPad sir should be fine for this for casual work, but the pro will be faster and the screen will look and feel better.

hi you have covered how to set a static background, but what about a moving background with diff fps than the main object? if anyone has resources to share on this, it would help a lot, thank you 🙏

for my case, the background moves faster than the main subj

In Procreate, creating an animation where the background moves at a different frame rate than the main object requires some workaround, as Procreate does not support multiple frame rates within a single animation directly. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can achieve this effect: 1. Create Your Animation Elements Create the Background: Design your background and decide on how it should move (e.g., scrolling, parallax effect). Duplicate the background layer to create the necessary frames for the desired movement. Create the Main Object: Design your main object and animate it as needed. 2. Set Up Your Canvas Create a New Canvas: Choose an appropriate canvas size for your animation. Import or Create Background Frames: Import your background frames into the canvas or create them directly in Procreate. Import or Create Main Object Frames: Import your main object frames into the canvas or create them directly in Procreate. 3. Animate the Background and Main Object Animate the Background: If you want the background to move slower, duplicate each frame of the background multiple times. For example, if your main object is animating at 12 frames per second (fps) and you want the background to move at 6 fps, duplicate each background frame twice. Animate the Main Object: Animate the main object at your desired frame rate. Ensure that the number of main object frames aligns with the total number of frames for the animation. 4. Combine the Animations Use Onion Skinning: Enable onion skinning to see multiple frames at once. This helps in aligning your background and main object frames. Align Frames: Align the main object frames with the corresponding background frames. If the background frame needs to stay for two frames while the main object changes, make sure they are correctly aligned. 5. Export the Animation Preview Your Animation: Use the play button to preview the animation and ensure the timing looks correct for both the background and the main object. Export the Animation: Go to the Actions menu (wrench icon) > Share > Animated MP4 or Animated GIF. Set your desired frame rate for export. Even though this sets a single frame rate for the entire animation, the duplication of background frames will give the appearance of a slower background movement.

ok but how do u save it with out it blowing up ur device and deep frying the quality, also every time i save something it turns the whole animation into a green blank canvas, i can’t even go back in and fix my animation after this.

Hi! Sorry to hear you're having trouble. To save your animation without losing quality, try exporting it as a GIF or video file. In Procreate, go to the Actions menu (wrench icon) > Share > Animated GIF or Video. If you're getting a blank canvas, ensure you’re not accidentally selecting a blank layer. You might also want to check your export settings. Hope this helps! Cheers!

This is great but I can only add 4 layers. I imagine I have to pay MORE to get layers 🙄😒
@srabonibasu146024 күн бұрын
No, you check your canvas information, there you can see how many layers are possible to create, for high resolution layers are limited.
