Actions even speak louder than words. In my culture, some people may not speak their mind directly as they feel awkward to apologize in person ,then they conduct proper ways to show kindness back, which then leads to a better communication atmosphere.

Hello Mark. Excellent presentation of How to apologize. I am a teacher and in experience I had to guide my students on these topic. I would add one more step, it would be in zero step (it is go before all). The environment: Find a suitable place to talk with the affected person. I think it is very important. This place should be alone and without distractions. That gives more seriousness to what you want to say. It is not the same as talking in a corridor where people pass, or in the street where a vehicle with their horns pass, because the solemnity of the moment would be lost. The affected person would appreciate this detail from us. This is all, a hug. Alex Pozo (from Chile)

Forgiving heals the person who does the forgiving...it's a self empowerment tool to move on and not languish in the pain. The asking of forgiveness by the other person helps to forgive faster. I have been on both sides. Having to forgive without being apologized to and having to apologize. I must confess that I apologized not so much to look for my own healing but I needed to see the other person heal quickly. Having to forgive without being apologized to was definitely harder and took sometime but wasn't impossible.

Yes, apologizing and forgiving are the two best qualities of any human being. You explained it very nicely! However, I feel that people often hurt others intentionally and they will never apologize in such cases. I cannot forgive them, but try to ignore and move away from such people. Like you said "it doesn't matter", I just try moving forward filtering out those people from my life.

My impressions are like that: you definitely should be a scientist. I have never realised that an apology can be divided into those steps. In fact, everyone does them intuitionally, but you were able to separate them and to call them, like a true scientist.

I ever read in some articles that the best apologize is don't repeat we mistake again;to hurt another person. And yes,it's me when l make mistake l directly to apologize and fixing the problem is.I told them l would have responsbility for this and how to make it better.I am so regret to hurt their heart and feel it's stupid things that l ever made. Thus,l am easy to forgiving but can't to forget their mistakes.

Usually "a piece of music" refers to the instrumental elements of the song and not the vocal elements. We often refer to classical music as a "piece of music".
