Depends if you have your passport photo taken when you were 12 years old you may not want your driving license photo as a 12 year old you so I would pay the extra and have a up to date photo of you as when you pass you will most certainly keep the photo of your provisional license and it will get transferred to your full license if you pass your driving test

You can use your birth certificate, however you have to supply an additional form of identity proof (such as your national insurance card)

you can but it doesn’t activate until you’re 17

@@xndr3897wrong it activates when you hit 16 years old but you can only ride Mo PEDS with 50 CC engine at 16 years old your car provisional does not activate till you are 17 years old

Actually I wait already 8 weeks and no news from DVLA so I start to feel dissapointment. I've sent paper version because online is only for British citizents and of course it is reasonable approach for them to take. I want to start a job as an estate agent and I can't because of their super delays. Does anyone is currently waiting for their Provisinal Driving License with paper application instead of online?

@@FirstCarUK happened with me as well, i did it online, paid £34. the website told me that it couldn’t recognise me and it may be due to the website being “new”. they told me that they are sending the form by post instead. i’m not sure if i’m supposed to pay extra?

It's telling me I can only get a moped license. I'm 16 and 6 months. I did it all then it said it can't verfie me and told me to do it the old way. At the end of that it started asking me if I need a organ donation or some shit. I used gov.uk

how do you get it before your 17th borthday

You can apply for your provisional licence up to three months before your 17th birthday. But you can’t drive until you are 17, even if the licence comes through earlier. The only way you can learn to drive at 16 is if you get the Higher Rate DisabilIty Allowance.

According to DVLA, an application completion form is normally sent when they require ID, a photo and a signature. It would be best to contact them directly, but it sounds like this is what they need.

Same. They've updated it, you were able to apply online without a passport but now a UK passport is required. I'm guessing we're gonna have to do it by post, making it harder and more expensive.
