If you read comments first and have NEVER had an NPI and are an individual, possibly stuck at the "endpoint", this video won't help you. At about 5:23 he shows how he has never had to do that. I read comments, saved my progress, signed out of my acct. then logged back in and simply clicked the "edit"(pencil) icon. I went to the top and bubble clicked to the next section . It allowed me to do the rest. Easy peasy. Good luck to ya! you are assisting with God's work.

Hi i have a question? If you dont mind answering please. I have a sole proprietorship business that i haven’t started yet officially. Im opening a non-emergency medical transportation business in California. And one of the requirements is to have an npi. I plan on starting with one vehicle but later purchasing more. Obviously when i get more vehicles i will need drivers working with 1099. As a sole proprietor with drivers will a type 1 npi be the right choice for me? Or will i need a type 2 because as my buisness grows i later plan on changing to llc. Please if you dont mind letting me know thankyou so much 🙏

As someone who Does Not ! own an LLC and purely a contractor for more than one company do I apply as a sole proprietor or not ? And if I applied in the third option that states apply for an NPI for an organization as an employee does that mean its a type 2 ?

The business address is tripping me up as I was hoping to do telehealth from home and just fill in part-time for a friend's private practice (if someone is out sick or on vacation) and maybe a few of my own clients eventually. They won't let you use a PO box but I don't want to use my home address. What do you do in this situation??

I need to get a blueprint together for everyone in your shoes. Get the personal NPI first if you don't have one. Then get your business established and then get your organizational NPI. Once you have both of those you can apply to become a Medicare provider. Both NPI's are free and the Medicare application is free.

Hi Carolyn, what kind of provider are you? A type 1 NPI is for you personally as a provider. A type 2 NPI is for your business. You will likely need both.

If you have a business and want to be paid through your business you need a Type 2 NPI. Otherwise you just need the Type 1.

Ok hung up on what you said no one has. It is asking end points and language and such. Before seeing your video wasted 7 days because we thought after registering at CMS was the whole application.

Hi Timothy, are you still stuck? End point is still optional so you can just advance past that screen without choosing an option.
