Thanx for posting. But here is one thing that I would add. Fill the container with water FIRST., then pour in the concentrate. Otherwise, you can create a kind of foam that runs up and out of the sprayer, and when you insert the pump is pushes the form out. Wherever that goes will kill the grass should you set it down, esp if it sits on the top of the pump area. You can always wash out the measuring cup with the hose and back into the sprayer later, or just wash it out in the utility sink and then wash your hands after.
@Iscaper12 жыл бұрын
1. You are correct, if I spill it would kill the lawn in that spot. That's why I'm very careful when adding concentrate to the tank. 2. Thanks for the suggestion. I added a cautionary note to the video description. 3. I like to saturate the weed I'm trying to kill. 4. You describe an impossible scenario. If a siphon is created while I'm filling the tank no water would come out of the hose. The hose end never touches the solution in the tank & my tap has a built in anti-siphon valve.

When phosphate ore is refined into elemental phosphorous, it leaves a radioactive by-product known as slag. Monsanto’s elemental phosphorous facility, situated just a few miles from its phosphate mines, produces prodigious quantities of slag that contains elevated concentrations of radioactive material. For years, this slag was actually sold to the town of Soda Springs and nearby Pocatello, and people built their homes and roadways out it. In the 1980s, however, the EPA conducted a radiological survey of the community and warned that citizens might be at risk from elevated gamma ray exposure. The study concluded that if business continued as usual in Soda Springs, within four decades “the probability of contracting cancer due to exposure from elemental phosphorous slag” would “be about one chance in 2,500 in Pocatello and one chance in 700 in Soda Springs.”

Here’s a tip my grandfather taught me. Take the concentrate and use a sponge to brush the tops of weeds that are higher than the grass. Make sure to wear gloves and it kills them dead without harming the lawn. Works every Time!
@lostinmyspace49104 жыл бұрын
Yes, a sponge or a cheap narrow paint brush. I also heard of a landscaper wear rubber gloves, then a cloth glove on top of that, and dip fingers and touch the tall weeds you want to kill. Sometimes the weed is so tall you can start at the bottom and grab the plant as you pull up on it. Another tip. Don't do this iin the sunlight or when it's hot out. Wait till it cools off in the later evening, or do it early morning. The plants cells close when it's hot out to conserve energy, or moisture. If they do that, they're not expiring moisture, but they're not also receiving moisture. Wait till it's cool, then trick it by introducing moisture, and you have a perfectly dead weed.

My father worked for Monsanto over 30 years as an operator, out in the pipes and tanks and valves. He never got sick. Retired and lived to be 92 years old. Before that, during the war (WW2), he built destroyers in the Orange, TX shipyard working around asbestos. Never was sick there, either. I have no problems using RoundUp as long as I take the proper precautions. Your mileage may vary.

My grandpa was in Nam, and smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day while spraying Agent Orange out of a chopper. After that he worked at an asbestos plant. As he has gotten older he now enjoys gardening and spraying Roundup on all our lawn and sidewalk weeds. He is 108 and still trucken. Moral of the story is that cigarettes and agent orange are good for your health, just like Roundup and Asbestos. If anyone says otherwise they are fake news.

My wife is a therapist who has over 25 years experience with autism disorders and to date there is no evidence that stomach disorders cause autism. The correct amount of round up concentrate is 6 ounces per gallon of water not 6 ounces per 2 gallons of water. And I certainly wouldn’t be mixing the concentrate with water on my lawn in case of an accidental spill.

The reason I buy super concentrate Roundup is to take advantage of stronger chemical, glysophate. If I dilute to 2 1/2 oz. Roundup and 1 gallon water, that brings me right back to a 2% mixture which is over the counter stuff which is not strong enough in my opinion. I do 6 oz. per gallon...triple strength. But that's just me.

@@eddie577 Eddie. I've used Roundup for years and it makes everything crunchy broen and dead positively. Don't buy over the counter stuff. Buy the stuff you can mix yourself and make it strong, but follow the mixing instructions for the right formula. One important note: You need to mix in also a surfactant within your batch of water/Roundup. The surfactant makes the chemical STICK to the leaves of the weeds so it can take it in. Oftentimes weeds prevent absolption of moisture. Ever see small droplets on clover or other green leaves? It's like water droplets on a newly waxed car. The surfactant makes that go away and gives a better stickiness to the green weed leaves you're trying to kill. Now there are other glysophate chemicals in weedkillers you can buy at Tractor Supply for example. They have no surfactants inside the bottle, so you definitely need to add some to make it effective. Roundup used to have surfactants included in their formula, but I don't rely on what they put in any longer. I automatically add my own just to be sure. Home Depot and Menards sell surfactant. I don't find it at Tractor Supply any longer. Don't forget to add surfactant to your mix. I don't care if Roundup bottle says it's in there. It's not enough.

I always put some soluble fertilizer in with the mixture so the roundup is absorbed much faster and sends the likker to every part of the plant, guaranteed 100% death rate. If you have isolated plants or weeds in a lawned area its best practice not the spray and just dig them out or maybe use a broad leaf weed killer so not to kill the grass.
@briantimms65283 жыл бұрын
Isolated weeds can be dug out, but if you manage to leave small traces of the roots, the chances are it will grow back. A combination of weed-killer that will destroy the plant, roots and all, then pull out what's left over after a few days, and your most likely going to pull most of the plant, and any roots left over are going to die off anyway.

Roundup is baned from American research centre.becoz of roundup one person got cancer in America so that they baned in America.recently in India also baned this product to use for plants.but they give only licence for coffe and tea plants cultivation.but this is also harmful ...so don't use roundup
@mindflowers17926 жыл бұрын
Pick the damn weeds, you don't have to wait four days to see a wilted brown weed still in plain site. It'll go away as soon as you.pull it. Cant get roots? Dig them up. If you care about weeds so much, then dont be lazy. If you can spray Roundup you can bend your ass down and pick them
@zzzzzz...99023 жыл бұрын
Sure that way will work but there are much more easier ways of doing it than doing it the old way that you described. The way that I do and many other people do it is that we will use a lawn mower or something to cut the weeds then I will spray weed killer. Has the same effect and requires much less work physically. You can always add more concentrate if the weeds are stubborn. There is a phrase that goes like this, work smarter, not harder. Its the 21st century.

Wow. you are spraying way too much. A light misting, one pass should do. You are spraying to the point of run off, which the product manual says not to do.

Lol, I just watched your homepage video and they talk about how "Roundup is not good to test on lab animals like rats and monkeys... as a matter of fact, primate is the most close surrogate to human being" So your telling me that if I drink a gallon of Roundup it is bad? Hm......... sounds like right wing, lunatic, danger everywhere, hide yo kids, everything is coming to get you, bullshit!

To all that doesn't want us smart ppl using any Roundup products give me access to your bank accounts to afford this alternative since it has to be reapplied ever 2 weeks N I'll be glad to use the safer Vinegar - salt- soap alternative....

I know this is ancient video in 2019 but dude, please increase the volume! I also don't mix on my lawn and I do wear protective long sleeves and pants, gloves and eye protection. I also like adding a surfactant and a colorant so I don't waste anything spraying things that have already been sprayed.

+Bob Silver I just bought a Roundup concentrate from Walmart that makes 10 gal for $18 to take back my gravel driveway. 10 gal of vinegar , and dish soap is the same cost if not more..
@matthewk18 жыл бұрын
+c1v1c966554 please use dish soap instead. Monsanto is a fucking evil company with no human regard. They literally want to kill you under your noses
@KCinspireME12 күн бұрын
Vinegar & dish soap, in my experience, only kills the plant above the surface so you have to keep reapplying. It ends up taking more time and money in the long run and still not as effective, even after several applications.

"Just hook it up to the hose", really? First, if you do that, how do you know when you have dispensed 6.4 ounces, can you tell me that? The bottle is opaque, not translucent, so you can't even try and estimate it as the level falls. And you can't, that I can see, take the lid off and pour, say, 6.4 ounces into a measured sprayer. What gives?
