The one with the salary. Asking for it while saying you will go somewhere else if not is not the point of the art of war. Asking your boss for a salary and saying you are dependent on it while having another job you can move to anytime in your backhand. Remeber: ideally avoid battles and conquer without fighting

I read “The Art of War: Accurately Conveyed Edition” on Kindle and it is the most appropriately translated version ever. For example, it translated one of the five elements for victory "天时" into “Whether”, which is appropriate, rather than “Heaven” in other editions. The author has another book about the application in modern times.

Here is what I did at every job, I made sure that whatever I do, no one does it better than me, but I did not stop there, I took on more responsibilities and made them depend on me and THEN asked for raise. Remember that the art of war is not a hack to get you through life on 'easy' mode, you actually have to work hard and smart to be good at this art. The art of war is about discipline and hard work as much as it is about deception. Deception should not be your only move, deception with not just strategy, but TACTICS based on hard work is what works. If you are working with JUST strategy, it will only bring disappointment as without tactics, all you have is a rough layout of what you are going to do and you start expecting things from your future and expectations without hard work only brings disappointment (which is the same philosophy behind break-ups being so heartbreaking because you can't have tactics in a relationship and all you have is expectations from this other person) If you already work hard and it's not working, work smart, set short term goals for long-time gains. Your goal is to be wanted by the organization you are working at, work towards achieving that goal first. Give them a reason for you to stay, maybe become the guy that the newcomers come to for help. Gain a reputation in the office of being the go-to guy who will solve all the problems, put some effort into being noticed because even if you get what you want but you are not wanted, THAT is a terrible feeling. Wish you the best of luck.

We can use sun tzu in our everyday lives? If you do this you are a tyrant! Sun tzu once got told he couldn't turn 4 concubines in warriors so he took the challenge and the first thing he did was kill one of them in from of the other 3 and said if you don't do what I say you will suffer the same fate. Yeah that's really a good thing 🤦♂️

The world will run you over without thinking twice. In a perfect world, no one would run off other businesses, so no one would offer better services, in turn, the market would have no innovation, without innovation stagnation occurs, and if that's what the world were like, we would still be in loin cloths. Yes, in a perfect world, business would not be hostile, but once we take that step there's no going back. It's a well known fact that if you're not growing your business, your a beta, simply for the fact that there is a place with two alpha businesses somewhere, and eventually one of them's gonna see you and how weak your business is, and they don't care about your livelihood.
