Hi Trent, I saw one of your videos which gave me hope to become an pilot since I am 30. Right now I am working at one airport at mexico as a OCC coordinator and I just started studying to get my mechanic license so I could get closer to be a pilot

QUESTION: Trent: Given all your experience now, in hindsight...would you purchase an airplane to do your training and CFI instruction; or is it too much to handle while time building and instructing?--Also, would you, theoretically, sell out of the plane once you start at SkyWest, or continue to use it as a side-hustle/fun/commuter??

Yes I’d probably buy and then sell an aircraft.

Curious if you "fail" the ipad (or similar device) during training to test if the student is learning the procedure, or just relying on the information they are provided by the technology?
@trent_dyrsmid3 ай бұрын
I teach it both ways. As far as failing the iPad, I don’t think I have yet to have a student that did not have ForeFlight on both their phone and on their iPad, so the likelihood of both failing at the same time is essentially zero.

Trent, what’s the SkyWest update? Last I Heard ya crushed it and earned a CJO.

That’s correct. I’m now just finishing up my time building and then I’ll get assigned a class date. I expect to be finished time building in four or five weeks and then once I have a class date, I will definitely announce it.

I call it “Marco Polo”. Someone says “Marco”, other person says “Polo”. That is how it seems at non towered airports to me. It’s relatively quiet on the radio, until someone says something. After that other people start chiming in. Pilot says “Hey FYI , I’m over here”. Me: “Oh yeah - I’m at the other side”. Other dude: “I’m heading in now”
