Year and a half into a relationship with the girl who was my "impossible" crush for eight years, the only thing I have to say, beside that this is very accurate... Is that I regret not having the courage to ask her out sooner She was in the same position as me, and we both put up walls because we were afraid we were going to be obvious and "ruin" the friendship Be courageous, be brave... What's the worst thing that can happen? If you get a no, you still end in the same spot you began in

Yes, but... So my crush is a friend of mine, and I'm afraid if I let them know and they reject me (which is most likely what's going to happen) then our friendship will be ruined and things will be awkward. Plus, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to date yet and I'm too afraid to ask if I am. So there's that. Anything you can suggest?

@@cray-zkat7664 I'm so sorry for not responding your comment sooner, your response was lost among my notifications, I'm sorry If it's still relevant, I think you should talk to your parents, and make them listen to you, depending on how strict they are, you should phrase it around the basis of how mature and responsible you are, and what you are willing to make, to not neglect your responsibilities, you need to show maturity Now, as for your crush, I was on your exact same spot of doubt, and I and the fact that it worked out for me and my gf, doesn't garantes anything for you, unfortunately... However, I still think you should talk about your feelings with your crush, again, talk maturely, be responsible, clear, talk about what you find great about this person, be willing to listen to what they say, without taking it too personal, and above anything else, don't expect anything good or bad I know the fear of losing that friendship is paralyzing, but I have learned that, if they are mature, and their response a negative, they'll aknowledge your feelings and even if it's awkward for a while, they'll be there for you after the dust it's settled and you'll feel better

I think for now I'm going to wait a bit just to see what happens, and if I do confess... I'm probably going to give them a note at the end of the day telling them and saying to text me if they want to talk about it. Thanks for the advice!

I am so happy I have an understanding that I had a crush, asked them after being friends for about 2 years, asked them out on dates and got a yes from them. And I asked her while she was in a group of friends. Her friends all know me too and really asked me when I was going to ask her... Now 6 years on, We are both engaged to each other, advice for anybody. Ladies and girls are only human too. Just be yourself and just have fun with each other. I always somehow make her laugh and she loves it. When she needs help, I will go help her. It really is a 60/40 give/take relationship. While both trying to be the 60 of it.

I have a question that I REALLY need an answer to: How do you get over a built up obsession over someone else, whom you will most likely never be with. I'm talking about a chronic obsession, one that is starting to affect daily life, health, etc. This is especially pertaining to people who require a very strong bond with the person of interest before wanting to have them as a romantic partner, such as a longtime friend. The reason why it's so difficult to let go is because you've known them so long, it's difficult to recreate the same type of bond with someone new.
@clementine98302 жыл бұрын
i think i know how to help, for me i found myself highly fascinated over someone who became my best friend. apparently this person was just “that great” that i started having dreams about them (nothing weird, just us two vibing and having fun) and i was honestly annoyed with the amount of time i dreamt about this person and got it confused with a crush but every time i imagined myself and them in ANY romantic situation just made me internally cringe. the best advice i have is to make space from them, for me it took two years for me to stop dreaming about them or to stop thinking about them constantly, so: - make some space - find something else to fill that space - take some time to do things that you enjoy (drawing, playing a game with other friends, cooking) for me i eventually lost contact with them (just because we stopped being interested in the same things so conversation was difficult to keep up), im not sure if this helps, but just remember to find something else to fill the space otherwise you’ll go straight back to them :) (also i should mention that this person and i used to ft every day, every night and just chat about how our day went or we would just listen to music and laugh, so we were VERY close but like i said before we lost contact due to not really having anything to talk about to one another)

@ٴ what do you mean by “reverse the roles”? Do you mean like, put yourself in their shoes?

Have you confessed? I think confessing and letting all those feelings out can help. That way if you get rejected you'll know for sure that they don't feel the same and wont hold on to false hopes. Then maybe it might make it easier to slowly distance yourself, both for your own good and for theirs. Try focusing on yourself and the things you enjoy, keeping yourself busy, staying productive can help keep your mind off that person. Just know it'll take time but you can do it

Idk how to accurately explain it, but how he was acting seemed like just a front. But the more I talked to him and joked with him, the more interested I became. Idk, I'm mostly doubting myself because I've never confessed my feelings before, so this is all new to me.

When you ask them out, the answer won't always be "yes" or "no". Lots of people are afraid of saying "no" because they fear it may offend or hurt your feelings, so they'll dance around the question instead of giving you a clear answer. And their positive answer needs to be clearly assertive because even a "yes" can be a "no" if they are sounding like they're scared of you. If they're scared they may be saying "yes" just to calm you down, but they won't show up at the date. The solution for this? Simply ignore anything that isn't a straightforward AND confident "yes." Otherwise, you should discard the date immediately and respectfully tell them "thanks, but forget what I said" and move on. Don't waste time with people who seems to be afraid of you.

Showed lots of pics, smiled with her eyes. I thought it was so charming and endearing. One day later on, she popped up on a dating app - so I shot my shot cause I had her number. She turned me down, said she was flattered but that she didn't want to mix up personal and professional life, which didn't bother me. I thought she was just being nice, but our dynamic changed later on. She started being much nicer to me, smiling and being flirty without being so flirty I got the wrong idea. She was a really classy girl and really knew how to make a guy feel good, kinda like: "if circumstances were different, I'd be all over that idea cause you're pretty cute" 😊

I’m pretty sure he likes me cuz HE CHOSE TO SIT NEXT TO ME and you can’t forget that HE SMILES AT ME ALL THE TIME oh and also I HAVE CAUGHT HIM STARING AT ME and last but not least HE ALWAYS ASKS IF I’M OKAY! Idk I tried to ask my magic 8 ball and it said yes! I’m gonna ask my bestie for advice, I might give y’all updates. Love you! Edit: Me, my bestie, my crush, and my crush’s friend were all talking in the hallway and then my crush’s friend says that my crush likes me! I was just speechless so my bestie chimed in by saying that I have a crush on him too. But then I had to go to class. Oh yea we have most of our classes together so I guess that’s it.

I have a crush on my school and yesterday, well i think she already has a liking to someone and that someone looks interested too. Even my classmates cheered and shipped them, i feel defeated already But i aint going down Thats why i have made many crushes as alternative... (demonic laugh) But truthfully i really felt so sad. She was my main crush after all. Guess its better to know the truth then

My crush left to Hawaii for a week, and on the day she was getting back, I left to travel across my state to see family. I’ve missed her, and stumbled upon one of these videos, and realized I have feelings for her. I’m currently debating between telling her soon after I go back home, or waiting until a dance in January. I’m luckily alone with her most weekdays, so going for the sooner time could work. When I get the courage, or just have the ever so powerful 3 AM motivation, I might just text her about it, go to sleep and hope for the best. It could work, but that’s just a theory.

Been to multiple events, many game nights, many discussions about common interests, compliments here and there, we know a reasonable amount about eachother. I’ve even got the perfect line to ask the question. I just need the balls to actually do it. I’ve got pretty bad social anxiety (as does he), so anyone out there who has been in a similar situation, how did you manage?

I have this huge crush on a guy who barely knows me whatsoever. We spoke a lot last year during science class, mainly working together on projects. We got along really well, and still do on the rare occasion we actually talk to one another. I sorta found myself crushing on the guy at the end of last year, and now I can't pluck up the courage to go talk to him again. I don't know how to naturally do it without being practically pushed together through schoolwork. While we've gotten along in the past, I never got to know him all that well beyond his sense of humor, intelligence, and his time during after-school track and field. I really want to get to know him better, or at least get him off this pedestal I've put him on. I just don't know HOW! If anyone has ANY ideas, please let me know!
