I really hate this kind of phrases, I know what you mean and it's true that we have to prevent unhealthy dependency but that kind of message always makes me feel like if they're telling me that I can’t love because I hate myself and that’s not true, specially if it’s written like Ru Paul says “if you can’t love yourself how the hell you gonna love somebody else”… it really makes me feel like they are invalidating my feelings. Also whenever I watch Drag Race with my family and Ru says that sentence my mom used to respond “amen” too but one day I just couldn’t anymore and just told her “mom, do you think I don’t love you? do you think in a point of my life I have ever stopes loving you? because you know I hate me and it's beeb worst in the past and you know I've always loved you and never stoped doing that” and since then she has reduced the amount of times that she responds to that phrase. 😞😞😞

Even if you get rejected don't be discouraged. Don't expect them to like you eventually but if you do care for them, in my experience, it's been nicer to have them in my life. Just don't expect them to change their mind. I've found that there's a difference between infatuation and love. Love can only form with plenty of time to grow together, infatuation is much more surface level. Being rejected can hurt, but it's better than wondering "what if" or alternatively getting with someone who isn't certain of their feelings can be worse. Just remember that it will hurt for now, but better than dragging that hurt over an extended period.

Hi, I'm a girl. And really a scared one. The thing is that every time I'm on my own just thinking i'm like "it's now or never i'm getting it done". I get confident and feel good about it. I know that feeling, I had a crush on a close friend. I never told him, but that doesn't changed the fact, that we aren't that close anymore. It probably wasn't caused by me having a crush on him, but by us developing different personalities which didn't fit together that well anymore. That made me realize, that friendship doesn't necessarily hold on forever anyway. So I probably don't have to worry that much about loosing friendship, if it's not necessarily that permanent as I thought. So it's probably bether to take the chance, than try to preserve the friendship. (But that's just my experience, I can't tell if that also applies for you.)

I know that making sure your crush even knows you exist is a must! One time i was sitting in PE and some random girl walks up to me and tells me she likes me, I didn't know what to do, I've never seen or heard of her before. I thought she was joking because i have no physical features that make me attractive. So I just played it off as a joke and she walked away really sad. I felt bad and wanted to talk to her but I didn't remember her name or even what she looked like.

I love how I literally have so many people I might like, and a lot that I luke for sure but all of them I can't date. One lives an hour and a half away, one has a girlfriend, one I already scared off, and has a girlfriend, and one said they would never date again, plus I already got everything I need with the last one, just not the title of dating, or confession of feelings

I had a habit of scaring away my crushes when I was younger and as a result of starting homeschooling, I've not really developed feelings for anyone. I'm trying to b a better, more receptive-to-others person, and one of my biggest insecurities is that I've always gotten clingy with people, even with people I'm not that close to. I'm not sure why I was like this, but I think my clingy behavior is linked to the separation anxiety I've experienced since birth. I'm worried I'll get clingy too soon again and scare away more people. As I've grown, I've picked up tips here and there about how to cope with this behavior. I've been learning about how to cope with separation and how to avoid scaring people away. I regret the actions I made when I was younger, but still feel guilty, even though I was pretty young and pretty ignorant at the time. Wish me luck, because I want to be a better person, for myself and others! :)

this helps a lot, because everyone is always saying to just tell your crush how you feel, but... what if he finds it creepy? what if he wont be your friend anymore? what if he tells everyone that you like him? what if he humiliates you in front of everyone? what if he doesn't feel the same?

in my honest and sincere opinion, if you aren’t sure whether he will do such horrible things to you as telling everyone you like him (when he doesn’t like you back, that is), and humiliating you in front of everyone, he’s not good enough for you. For your other concerns, I’d say it doesn’t matter much, just move on. There are “so many fish in the sea”. Go and find the right one for you.

So I've liked this guy for a long while now and everyone keeps saying he likes me too, which I think so as well. The problem is he used to date my friend. (Yes, she's totally ok with the possibility of us dating and even encourages it.) I've only ever confessed to someone once before, and well it didn't end out to great. I've been wanting to ask him out at some point but I feel like he's still a bit hocked up on his ex and I just don't know what to do. I have tickets to a lacrosse game that I could invite him to I'm just scared and I'm not sure if he does reject me if it will mess up our friend-ship and spilt the friend group. I really don't want that to happen. Should i just go for it and ask him out or should i just leave it be? Update: turns out he was just using me to get closer to my friend again. I can't believe I fell so hard for it. Gald I never got the chance to tell him how I felt. Haha I guess I'm still as gullible as ever. UPDATE #2: WE'RE DATING. Yup, he asked me out. Turns out he liked me and didn't know how to express it. We've been dating for about a month and he genuinely seems to be down bad for me😭 still a bit unsure but I still want to give it a chance. I've been pretty satisfied with our relationship and I do feel a lot happier lately. We're going on a date tomorrow actually. Funny how things just happened. We went on a week long trip for school, and he mades sure to always sit next to me on the bus without me asking. The tention was high 😳 if yk, yk. And then on the second last day he told me and on our flight back home he kissed me and we made it official after our four hour plane ride. I should really be more patient about these kinds of things 😭

I actually told my crush that I’ve been crushing on him after only talking to him once. I told him that I’ve liked him since he started being at my church (a year now), and he had said that he’s not looking for a relationship. I didn’t see him much at all over the summer, so in a way, it was giving him space. But we’ve talked a little here and there since August, and lately, we’ve talked more frequently even if they’re not long conversations. So, for me, telling him that I like him has actually caused us to talk more. Additionally, I’ve also been getting more comfortable TO talk to him ☺️
