Very important to get the flat white disc in the correct orientation on assembly or the upshift lever cannot be completely installed into the housing. This is the one installed directly onto the large metal component in the video. It appears that all 3 positions are the same but they are not. And he makes getting that metal part with the lever installed look easy. I think he's a magician! Took me much longer but could not have done it without this video! Thanks Joey.

Did you test it to see it works or not?
@JoeyMesa Жыл бұрын
Yes, it worked after I reassemble it. Keep in mind, the shifter was functioning fine before I took it apart. If you have this shifter and it's not working, it's up to you to identify a broken part when inspecting. The ST-EF41 is the lowest quality shifter Shimano makes, and they're not made to last indefinitely. Most of the parts are plastic, so honestly, unless you're dead broke or you don't have access to bicycle parts, it's much easier to replace the shifters that are not working with the ST-EF51 model than to rebuild one.
@Iranian.Shia-kurd Жыл бұрын
@@JoeyMesa You said it was working before you took it apart, it means you did not repair it ! By the way, isn't ST-EF51 also made of plastic gears? Plastic wears out quickly

FYI the low lever is working fine for both the rear and front
@JoeyMesa Жыл бұрын
I'm still active and comment when I have time. The problem with this system is it's not very durable long term. Many of the internal parts are made of plastic that wear and break under more frequent usage. In my honest opinion, the path of least resistance is to acquire to ST-EF51 shifter set up. Unless your time is worth nothing, it's going to be much more cost effective long term.

Front derailleurs never shift as well as rear derailleurs by comparison. Try to add a little more cable tension by turning the adjusting barrel on the shifter counter clockwise a turn or so an see if that helps the shifting speed. If it rubs while in gear, you went too far.
