How to assemble and rebuild an Eaton Fuller 13 speed transmission back box on your 18 wheeler

Watch as I assemble a 13 speed transmission back box. This video will show you how to add your reference marks on the gearing of the auxiliary section of the transmission to correctly re assemble the unit. There are many part numbers included in this tutorial. This was a customers unit that I tore down and repaired. This unit was wore out with multiple issues regarding grinding while making splits and range shifts. In the video I replace the synchronizer,bull gear,splitter gear and more.If you have the time and a couple of tools you can easily complete this job without any problems. The education is outstanding I mean outstanding I've got right now A Eaton Fuller 13 speed transmission that is leaking from every office it seems like and I have got to I'm going to try to replace the gaskets that are outside and superficial but my fear is I'm going to have to probably take it apart and get to those areas you were just showing where you had to take the oil the pins and the fork and all those rods out to get those seals in possibly I'm hoping I don't have to go that far but if I do at least I got somebody like yourself that is willing to share your knowledge so God bless you keep you safe and in Jesus name and I appreciate the videos

Now we don't need to find out is putting that onto the rest of the transmission and see how the shimmons done and all that kind of stuff cuz I'm pretty sure that's pretty significant and important so maybe I'll video come out pretty soon on that or we can get a total 13 speed Eatonton Fuller transmission rebuilt from start to finish step by step 100% that would be awesome all right brother God bless

I have oil leaking out the splitter valve, blue line. Will a new k-3331 fix this or would it be the O-ring that’s inside the tube? Or the piston O-ring?

I'm working on taking off a back box on a fuller 13spd for my first time n it's been a nightmare . The dial pins r frozen up won't beat through found 1 hole that a bolt threads into to push da box out cleaned it out w a thread chaser . Hopefully better luck tomorrow I had a belly full today . lol

They can be a pain in the ass to knock the pins out when on the truck. There’s not much space which I’m sure you’re aware of. Make sure your knocking the pins out in the right direction. If your staring at the output shaft you need to drive them in like a nail. Sometimes if there’s not much space an air hammer will work. Other than that mabe get yourself a bar to help hit them with

I do not mean to judge in any way. Just asking a question. In the start of the video setting the O-ringings, does the transmission oil set and reach those places fast? Or should you lubricate the O-rings?

No it definitely needs to be oiled. Later in the video as I am assembling the pistons for the range and splitter I use oil and the silicone lube provided. Just out of habit I did not lube anything up at the beginning of the video because I dident want any dirt or dust to stick to anything before assembly. But yes most definitely oil the orings

@@caleblee4856 if your wanting to learn how to build these transmissions I would suggest buying a transmission from a salvage yard or a shop. Disassemble and reassemble over and over again until you are comfortable with it. 10 speed core transmissions are pretty cheap and would be awesome to have to train yourself with. Glad you like the videos check out the video we have on the fro16210c rebuild. I try my hardest show everyone how to assemble the whole unit and what tools are needed. If you can stomach the hour and a half long video I’m positive you will take something from it.

@@etrtruckcenterenginedrivet8918 Sweet! I can definitely stomach watching an interesting video like that. Would it also be beneficial if I chose to pair a 10 or 13 speed to a 7.3 Powerstroke? I can buy a T444e flywheel for the medium duty International trucks. I know I’ll need a heavier clutch assembly and a SAE #2 bellhousing aswell as upgraded frame support. I would also have to add air lines and a compressor for the Splitters and Auxiliary uses. Am I missing anything? Is it even smart? I do a decent bit of towing here and there. It also is fun having a lot of gears lol.

So on the big gear that supposed to be 180 degrees how many teeth gears supposed to be each side

Mark a tooth on the gear. Count 27 teeth and mark the next tooth that should put you at 180deg make shure we’re talking about the same transmission rtlo18913.

@@etrtruckcenterenginedrivet8918 I did mark them 180 degrees and it’s still out of time when I installed on the transmission, but I did one in the past and couldn’t figure out the timing, so I took to a transmission shop, and they told me that the ‘0’ stamps on the counter shafts where not right from the factory, I wonder if the same thing is happening with the one that I’m doing rn
