On new released "Recommendations for Paper Filings to Avoid Scanning Delays" USCIS do not want us to do the hole punch, in this case how do we organize all different forms for adjustment of status packet- use envelope for each forms+supporting documents ?
@CitizenpathImmigration Жыл бұрын
USCIS does state that they do not want you to use holes or even paper clips. We believe USCIS is trying to reduce obstacles in the receiving process. (They have teams of people that simply open the package and scan the documents.) While you should not completely ignore this guidance, you can continue to use paper clips and hole punching in moderation. Just don't over do it. Remember that someone is going to open your package and want an easy way to feed it into a scanner. We took the time to speak to attorneys who will continue to hole punch their documents. As long as USCIS continues to lose items occasionally, you should feel free to use tools that help keep the package organized.

Use those clear plastic paper sleeves and put each section of paperwork (Cover letter, forms, primary evidence, secondary evidence, etc), then keep them all in a three ring binder (those clear sleeves already have the holes punched, and your papers won't be punched. This ensures everything is kept together instead of having lose papers, and it also makes it soooo much easier to find a document, instead of having to look at each page.

Amazing vídeo helped me A LOT! I was just shocked when saw that a Two prong folder costs $30 the cheapest. Wtf?! 😂
@CitizenpathImmigration2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, we are so glad you found the video helpful! It's possible that you were looking at a box of 50 folders for $30. We know that Amazon sells them in bulk for a little less. Maybe you can find them sold separately at your local office supply store.

@@CitizenpathImmigration I have looked far and wide on amazon, my local shipping supplies stores, stapes, target etc etc, NO one, and I mean no one sells these special folders or 2 prong metal fasteners in packs less than 50.

Do we need to provide certified English translations of documents like birth certificates or can we simply do the translation ourselves?
@CitizenpathImmigration Жыл бұрын
A certified translation has more to do with how it is translated, not who translates. Technically, it's possible for you to do your own translation. However, it's highly recommended that you get a third-party do the translation. If you are an applicant or petitioner, there's a conflict of interest. I 589 Instruction says we need to send one copy of passport or travel documante cover to cover does that mean I need to scan all my passport pages?

Generally you can include a photocopy of the biometric pages only.

What if use sheet protectors? They can easily open and pull out documents, is that a problem?
@CitizenpathImmigration9 ай бұрын
If you are using many sheet protectors, this would be very tedious to open for USCIS. There's also not much value to a sheet protector for a standard sheet of paper. Some people like to use a sheet protector as a pocket to hold their loose photos. That makes sense. If you need to use more than 3 sheet protectors, it's probably too many.

Are e allowed to use the paper folders with an ACCO fastener similar to what you showed? USCIS says do not use folders! I also want to use paper folders with ACCO to hold together documents of each of my forms, e.g., I-485, I-131. I'm afraid it would cause return of my package
@CitizenpathImmigration2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question! USCIS says "Do not use binders or folders that we cannot easily disassemble." The method we have described is very easy to assemble and disassemble and is used by most law offices. USCIS also says "Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions." A simple paper folder with a reasonable number of ACCO fasteners should not cause a problem. Remember the golden rule in the video. Keep it organized and easy for USCIS to disassemble.

I got RFE for i-130, been asked ton attach original RFE letter on top. It can be downloaded copy of RFE received in email or USCIS account or it MUST be original copy which been delivered to postal address in states. Short of time need urgent reply please. Will be very grateful!
@CitizenpathImmigration Жыл бұрын
Preferably use the copy that was mailed to you. However, you can send a copy of the downloaded RFE.

Do we still need to do this if we are applying online?
@CitizenpathImmigration2 жыл бұрын
Obviously you won't be using paper clips if filing electronically, but it is important to keep your evidence organized and presentable.

No paperclips allowed according to USCIS
@CitizenpathImmigration10 ай бұрын
You're not wrong. This video was made before that USCIS statement. However, the overriding rule is to keep your package of materials organized. A paper clip is easy for them to disassemble. It's better to have paper clips than to submit a stack of unorganized documents.
