Thank you Dr. for the explanation. I have a large medial meniscal year posterior horn according to MRI results. I haven’t see the ortho however physical therapy is helping me. 😊

Thank you, useful tips as always, can you please make a video or show a case about medial patellar plica syndrome?

Hi Agten. Great content. Just purchased your speed book- cant wait to dive in. Tell me, any idea if those Pareto Reihe books are available in English?

dont think pareto reihe is availalbe in german. be careful though, they are good to get up to speed but the books have many mistakes!

@@DrChristophAgten thank you for your reply. I have actually found the english equivalent - they go by a different name but are written by the same authors - Direct Diagnosis in Radiology. Will definitely use them with caution!

The Supra patellar recess has the same name behind the patella and on the side? Or does it change names on those specific locations?
@DrChristophAgten5 жыл бұрын
it depends on the source/literature. some might call it part of the suprapatellar recess, others name it lateral (or medial) patellar recess. it probably depends on how high up you go. as there is a suprapatellar plica that in some rare cases can separate the suprapatellar recess from the rest of the joint capsule and that plica is above the patella, that would mean that the medial and lateral pouch you can see at the midlevel of the patella belong to the "main joint cavity", then the best term is medial or latelar patellar recess.

not quite sure what you mean, so you have the suprapatellar recess where your joint effusion is, it goes down to the knee, as it is communicating with the joint obviously. medially and laterally of the patella you can have fluid/effusion (at the level of the plicae), but the name does not change, as far as i know, the little pouches have no separate names. or do you mean the prepatellar bursa?
@bernardomedellin89975 жыл бұрын
Dr Christoph Agten the little pouches, I was dictating a knee that had the medial pouch slightly enlarged (motor vehicle accident) but as I wrote supra patellar bursa couldn’t help notice that it was medial to the patella not in the superior part and got me thinking. Neither Netter or radiopaedia solve my doubt so decided to bother you. Thanks!
