How to attach an airbrush to a regular compressor. Lets hook it up!

How to attach an airbrush to a home compressor. A guide for what you will need to get the hook up!
It is easy to do and there are many reasons you may want to airbrush with a compressor you already own! A quick tutorial and explanation.
garage compressor, home compressor, regular compressor.
BSP has become the standard and is the correct term to search at least in the USA. Most plumbing shops will have BSB threads which will also work.
Hose with JUST 1/4 inch NPT to BSB adapter

thank you for creating this video, it has really helped me out. I am running a refrigerator compressor, to a dual tank rig. From the compressor I had been running a coiled copper line to a section of rubber hose, a splined adapter to water trap/regulator, from that ran a hose to my airbrush. I want the pressure cut off aspect of the shop compressor, however, the skirt on my piston disintegrated, so I swapped out the noisy electric motor for the fridge compressor. Now that I have some time, I am wiring in a power switch and the pressure cutoff. I will run a short line to the tanks, and from the tank regulator, run a3/8 hose to my water trap, which I plan to mount to the side of my cart. put the whole compressor and tank on the bottom shelf of the cart, connect my hose to the water trap, like you have your on your bench. then the new line from water trap to airbrush. a set up like yours, but on wheels.

Thanks man my regular airbrush compressor just drops to 20 psi when im brushing so being able to just do it from a normal compressor is a god send

This is the second video of yours I have watched, and this is a wealth of information for me, this is helping get back into airbrushing. I went through TONS of frustration using "airbrush" compressors back in the day. If only I had that Fortress compressor from day one. Will update later. Thank you for your time sharing these videos.

I have that same compressor from harbor freight and I bought my adapter from home depot. Works great. Very happy with the compressor. It's not loud at all.

Thank you for showing me how I can use a shop compressor with the airbrush I have yet to buy for use in my train room. I really didn't want to have a little & noisy airbrush compressor in there as well. Now I know I can just run an air line across my ceiling in the shop and above the ceiling of my train room. I'll install the moisture filter in a spot between the ceiling joists where I can easily attach a hose "drop" down to wherever I'm working.
