Damn never thought about this at all, I usually keep distance between my legs and the tank so literally I slide every time I brake, which is pretty much every minute here in India! Thanks I’ll be trying this tomorrow.

Holy shit 12 seconds in and "..., especially with the yamaha R6" lmao I bought one a few weeks ago and I'm already looking up "sports bike wrist pain" I'll try this hopefully I'm in a bit less of a pain during my commuting.

Stompgrip Tank Grips is what I use and really works. The grips are transparent so it does not take away from the aesthetics of the bike.

Exactly the point. guys can try it for yourselves. try overtaking a semi that would usually blow you off a little with the wind. try having a loose grip this time. you'll be surprised.

Good advice. But I would like to add that the angle of the stubs may also force your hand into an uncomfortable position depending on your anatomy. Yes, we apply only light pressure on the brake and we do not "hold on" to the handlebars, yet even so your hand will still angle to a certain degree during braking since you need to press (or curl) your fingers towards yourself ie. the handlebars. In that case you have to adjust that angle. Not all bikes can be adjusted this way so you might consider an alternative stub set.

Thank you, I have noticed this myself. But you are the first one to mentioned on videos I watched about superbike riding position. I am talking about squeezing the tank with your legs. This should only be done mostly during braking, unless you are in a track taking turns on crazy speed. It is just not possible for most people to keep on squeezing the tank with your legs all the time.

Side tank pad grips help so much to transfer that weight off your hands and wrist. so worth it! Just remember that you have to use your legs and abs.

Making the bike fit you will always alleviate most wrist pain. Adjustable rearsets and changing bar position and height drastically changes how you can ride. If you aren't planted on the bike, you can't ride it efficiently.

I think wrist pain has more for me to do with the need to control the throttle and a throttle grip which is smaller than I should have. Possibly it's because I ride a Busa and it's really important to have a good grip as the the throttle is super responsive as I always ride in A Mode. It did help! a bit adding Heli-Bars. Then again I'm old so it could be that too!

If your bike is a twin cyclinder & out of syncro means more vibrations which you feel on the handle bars ie sore wrists too.When you ride, do it in a relaxed body mode.Good vid.

You missed one very important point is there mechanical problems head baring might need replacing and cause vibrations you might need steering damper wrong tire pressure, wrong fork setup I could keep going on.

James Feenan interesting points!
@ckim6400
@ckim6400 9 жыл бұрын
James Feenan Not to down play your comment, but nothing wrong with either or any of those you mention. Sport/Super Sport /Hyper Sport and yes Sport/Touring usually have steering dampers. if maintaining your motorcycle is an issue riding any of the the above mentioned motorcycles should not be your choice to ride. Mentioned motorcycles should be serviced at recommended intervals or as needed. The pain likely is do to issues of individual ergonomics which with an investment cold change. Yup! It's all in the money. Damn I talk alot-Sorry-LoL
@irishzx9r
@irishzx9r 9 жыл бұрын
C Kim I am only pointing out the facts that these can cause problems even though you might think your bike is perfect a slight vibration can go through the handlebars and cause some pain. I would love to have the perfect bike you talk about but when you use motorbikes everyday of the year the things i mentioned cause problems and need replacing after so many miles on the clock.

Is it normal to have wrist pain as a beginner? Had my first lesson on the road. Wrist feels shitty. But its not because of breaking but i guess mainly because i'm not relaxed enough. For sure should learn to use my core more and legs against the tank.

I have a 2015 cbr 600rr , arguably the most comfortable of all super-sports due to its raised handle bars and seating position and even on that I still suffered from major back and wrist pain, thanks so much for the tips they really came in handy! I'm still glad that I didn't get that R6 ! yes it has a very aggressive seating position which is cool for short rides but I commute around 90 miles round trip daily on my bike to work ... that bike would've blown my back out !

sir snow exactly lol I had no problems on my cbr500 last year, but now that I got a cbr600, the position is aggressive. Since you’re having problems with a 300, be ready for 600. Might cause more problems if you seat wrong 👍🏼
