Great tips. One other factor I'd like to know about is the white balance setting.

This is good! Other videos were saying to shoot just after sunset, and that's nice, but I can't take all the shots that I want that way.

Would be good if you had included a real time shoot explaining these techniques.

Thank you for this video! I was curious how using flash doesn't affect motion blur. Does this still hold true in better lit backgrounds that still require a flash?

Very good explanation! This is how teaching how to take holiday light pictures should be. Well done! On the other hand did anyone mention that you kinda look like Ron Weasley ( though with black hair) from Harry Potter?

I do have a question. i saw the photo with the human subject, human came out ok but the christmas lights behind her. were blurred. was that because the camera was moved during the shot? or because there is a different setting for getting the person and the lights in focus?
@CameraLessonsOnline2 жыл бұрын
Good question. They were blurred because of depth of field. I pulled focus on the subject and allowed a shallow depth of field in the background. Normal DoF rules apply and if you wanted to stop down your aperture, shoot wider, and/or shoot further away in proximity you could increase the depth of field. Just note that increasing your aperture will ask more of your flash. Thanks.

Haha I started at ISO100 and 1/100 and handheld... did not go so well...

Yikes, that would not end well. Glad you got it sorted.
