Hey everybody! Hope everyone is safe and healthy at home. We are still under self-isolation at our home in Canada. We're thinking about all of you guys and trying our best to edit and put out videos from our 2019 back-catalog as close to daily as possible. We'll have a video coming out soon about our life in Canada during these days at home.

Hi Guys, Bit late to watching this video but I am about to buy my 1st Asado Grill and would really like to know what you season your meat with? Is it just salt and pepper? Thanks for a great video. Watching from Australia
@samuelandaudrey8 ай бұрын
@@tomasfarr3446 In Argentina we typically just use salt so as to not mask the flavour of the meat. We use 'sal parrillera' which is a coarse salt.

The explanation by Audrey's dad was quite educational. I didn't realize that the Argentine style of BBQ was that different with the slow cooking over wood embers. That counting to 10 is a neat little trick to remember. Looks like homemade asado is the must-try thing to do when visiting Argentina.

DANIEL si deseas ahumar un poco la carne, tomas un leño a medio prender y lo pones bajo la carne con las brasas hacia abalo, así sige largando calor y mucho humo que se usa en la coccion de la carne y la saboriza|| DANIEL if you want to smoke the meat a little, take a half-lit log and put it under the meat with the embers towards abalo, so it continues spreading heat and a lot of smoke that is used in the cooking of the meat and the flavoring

Yes they do, they ABSOLUTELY do charcoal... but not the fabricated charcoal briquettes.... it's the real, true, raw charcoal, what Argentines call carbon. Probably more than half the time, they use carbon, but they absolutely also use wood. The best wood is a hard flavorful wood (in the US, think Mesquite or Hickory).
