I came across your Podcast a few months ago and as a fan of sites like "The Art of Manliness" yours is definitely another must-listen Podcast for anyone working hard to be the best man they can be. I am a martial arts teacher and I recently told my teenage boy students to check out your Podcast. It's never too early to teach boys how to be strong men. Great job and keep it up!

Yea I wasn't taught to do any of that as a kid. I'm at a point in my life where it's crucial to be a leader and I feel like I'm starting at square one

I think what adds to great leadership is the ability to listen to others and not wAnting to be heard all the time. Personal experience: while listening to you say how we should work with that spirit service and be of service to others, I used to think at times that makes me weak because people should follow but I realize that’s my ego. Not everyone Is just going to follow. And like you said with influencing , they’re gonna follow because “knows what he’s doing” & also, what all great leaders have from what I seen is decisiveness & being accountable for the actions that happen.

Things to consider, 1. Leadership is a a skill that can be used to achieve great good things or great bad things. It needs to paired with strong moral and ethical boundaries. 2. I believe current society has been misguided into believing that Military Service coincident with high rank equates to good leadership skills automatically. Not so. Good Leadership is created through experience knowledge and good character. Bad leadership, is still leadership and it can be based on experience, knowledge, and bad character supported by preset structure. It is the moral and ethical boundaries that seperate the successful good leaders doing good things from the successful good leaders doing bad things. History is loaded with examples.

Interesting video! Something I say a lot in my business is "Details Matter". Working with startups, I think when people step into new leadership roles they can get so fixed on objectives and large goals they can lose focus on the small but important factors that could hurt their team or business in the long run. As a leader, who you bring together and how you apply your resources is on you. If the team fails, you missed something, if they succeed, the most credit you should ever take is that you delegated well.

Love it! Solid content as always Ryan. I just want to highlight a point that you already touched on, that to influence we need to lead by example! John Maxwell calls it "the law of the lid" and it says that basically your level of experience, faithfulness and competence is the lid on your influence! Keep up the good work

What is that saying about a weaker bearded individual cannot lead a stronger bearded individual...?
@kar3n355 жыл бұрын
My grandma always said that the charecter of managers and team leaders sets the tone for the whole team. If u put a weak bitch gossiper and sneaky as a manager because tjey are good at thejr job guess what? Ur team is gonna be a wreak. There will ne gossip problems and u will never know whay because they will cover their ass and u will not know why people are just actig up. They will also set someone up to scape goat for their lack of competency. Ecape goat usually someone they see as a threat because they would do a better job than them.
