I agree. I think it takes true leadership to do what is "needed" to shift a culture. And many times it may not be the easiest route. Being a leader is bring out the best of people to deliver the best results.

Love this! How as a leader can I deliver a message where the message I receive is not from a trusted messenger. I’m essentially trying to make the team drink the toxic ‘Koolaid’… this is the challenge I face in trying to embrace and move the team for greater connection and success.. cheers

1. Envision: what should tomorrow looks like to my team? If there is no vision, there is no leadership. If there is no vision, people will verish. 2. Enlist: list yours and others dreams to build the vision together 3. Embodying : how they treat people? What we say and how we behaving. Demonstrate and potray what we are really believeing. 4. Empowering: we give people the authority to make decision and we give them trust. Allow them to succeed. Equip the team consistently. 5. Evaluate: evaluate the people with us (the contribution, the needs, the ethics) 6. Encourage: always motivating, inspiring, uplifting people. Continually. Collaborators not followers.

Im a 14 year old girl and I think this is the best advice I've ever heard:) I want to try to apply this to how I live and work to aim towards a goal. My goal is to help people in need. EVERYONE tell me I'm too young to do that, that I should just focus on school and sports and stuff. But, I think that no one is too young to help others and now I'm going to start aiming towards my goal:)

The best advice I ever got from Brendon Burchard at one of his live events was just get started! Even if when we start we are terrible at it just do it and get better as we are moving forward. Took his advice when starting my own KZbin channel. The first 30 videos I am so embarrassed by but it's finally to a level I am feeling confident with and getting better every week by learning from others and the skills along the way. Thank you Brendon for the inspiration.

This is a great video. It touches on a simple mistake I see many leaders make and it distinguished between being an actual leader as opposed to a manager or boss. Instead of truly employing the input of their team, THEY offer decisions to their them and the team, who is made up of people that know their business, doesn’t agree with the direction the “leader” is presenting. Part of a leaders job is to make their team feel like they’re part of the direction they’re going. This won’t happen if the leader doesn’t engage their team to be part of the solution, but the team needs to be able to have a say in the direction they’re all being asked to go in.

I agree, to “empower” those you lead with authority to make decisions based on values or culture that is part of the company. I love it..a belief so strong that you still stay...a “legend”

Many people simply assume that rising in ranks is the same as being a "leader". A leader will take on a senior role in an organization (sooner or later) but not all senior personnel are leaders! It is important to comprehensively understand the ‘mechanics’ of being a leader. Good talk. Food for thought for sure…
@DolphinJoy123456 жыл бұрын
Very true and very refreshing I wish more businesses employed these teachings to their management. I've seen so many disgraceful managers in my years. As corny as it sounds like he said love is the most important thing a leader can have. I've seen so many narcissistic leaders that have such contempt for the people under them. Pride goes before a fall.
@DaveTalksBusiness3 жыл бұрын
It is interesting how so many qualities of leadership run into conflict with need. Many managers get so focused on trying to "motivate" their staff they end up missing what would have them demoralized in the first place. A poor environment, personal stress, a lack of direction. A manager can take huge steps to being more "motivational" just by being more empathetic.

This is powerful to wake up to in the morning. Go do it now and keep at it! Knock me down you can try I will get up every time.

Excellent, informative video Brendon. Great framework. In my view, there's an important seventh "E" - "Empathize." Leaders must create the conditions within the work environment where the workforce feels valued, understood and taken care of. By practicing empathy, leaders seek to understand their people. They demonstrate concern about the individual, not just his or her output (in large organizations the empathic leader focuses on the leaders immediately around him or her, and that permeates the rest of the org.). Empathy considers we don't always have to be right, be in charge, or be the one that succeeds. The staff feels safe to admit to mistakes. In turn, that fosters empowerment and growth. Practicing empathy has worked well for me and I've found it to be an indispensable tool in motivating my people to want to be their best.

A manager’s role isn’t just about managing people -it’s also about understanding the business. Not gaining acumen about the business is a mistake that can hinder your ability to make informed decisions and lead your team effectively. Actionable Tip: Take the time to learn about the company’s strategy, goals, and how your team’s work contributes to the bigger picture. Imagine leading a ship without understanding navigation. Business acumen is your map, guiding you and your team toward the company’s goals.
