I'm a teenage boy, and I realy want to conect with my mom, and I know I make it tough on her some times, but I still love her, and I sent this to her, and I hope this brings us closer, so thank you!

Look how much love is flowing toward you from your desire to get more love from your mum. Hope all goes well but if it don't then do not blame yourself and know it is not personal even though it feels that way. Know that you are awesome whatever happens:)

I am a single mother and this helped me. I have found when I go to my son and say I was wrong. I should not have dumped on him, it brings us closer. I am acknowledging him as a person and thinking about his feelings. He will talk about times when I apologized to him and how much it means to him. Even months and years later.

My 15 year old woke up one day and decided he wants to be a professional boxer/MMA fighter, says it's his passion..... this kid went to a UFC gym for like 2 months, I bought him a boxing/ kicking bag. He plays with it for like 15 minutes a day. This boy has never been in a fight in his life, never been punched in the face. I don't want him going into this field and getting hurt or getting killed! But to him, I'm being "unsupportive"

Hi, I'm a si gle mom of a 16 y/o teen. He's navigating rough waters right now, and I was looking for something to connect with him. When it comes to his feelings, for some reason, he says that he doesn't want to tell me 😢😢 I reassure him that it's OK to talk to me or trusted friends... as long as he talks with someone. In that process, when he was younger, I found this wonderful book: What a son needs from his mom by Cheri Fuller. Thanks for the video and for sharing your personal experiences 😊😊🎉🎉

Thank you for sharing with me and my son. I living with him for the first time since he was 13. He's now 24. I'm playing catch up. We're baking bread together late at night, it's wonderful. I am a mother of a teenager boy....my son don't like my touch....sometimes I feels so depressed with his behavior because it hurts me alot ....what should I do?
@daisy14413 жыл бұрын
My son reacts to me the same way. My thought is he finds the physical expressions fake since he THINKS I have a low opinion of him. (Any advice, to do's, sad or worried looks means this to him). I am going to try the texting thing she suggested in order to change his Thinking. Wish me luck 💚
@heathrsfeathrs2 жыл бұрын
Find his "love language". It sounds like physical touch is not his love language and you won't be able to reach him in that way, even if it's your love language. But one of these is: words of affirmation, quality time spent with him, gifts, or acts of service. You can visit this website or read "The Five Love Languages of Teenagers" by Gary Chapman. Hope this helps!

She did her best at that time in her life. Being an adult now, let it go, have the conversations and mend that relationship. You may find out where she was coming from and the whole picture. Give some grace

My 14 year old son just overheard this as I was listening and he really likes your ideas and perked right up. He's the oldest of 3 boys and 1 girl. I'm definitely going to use these tips. One other thing we do is to make sure we have some one on one time with the kids and listen to what they have to say and how they are doing, body language included.

All the more reason for you to be there, to be able to support him and to understand what he is going through, and if it gets really bad, you can get help. I try to provide information to him but not make it a controll thing, I try to help him think about consequences in a way that doesn't seem judgmental. But with teens this can be hard as sometimes they interpret anything as judgemental or attempts to control. We can only do our very best, but at least you'll be there and can get help, if needed.

Everything u said is awesome ,i really think that way only but here in my case as much as i am trying to incorporate these things in myself ,my husband is heading exactly in opposite direction . I am in such a pain as my adult son is trying to figure out something in his life mentally and emotionally and my husband is critical of him all the time . I know that my husband want his best only but his ways of dealing with his son is not going to work at all. Its hard to communicate with my husband ,impossible ,he doesnt get my point . I can go my own ways to handle my son but husband gets desperate and irritated and he behave in such away that if i take one step forward with my son ,we go two steps backward right away

Ok my son is that 3rd son who isn’t as affectionate and doesn’t want to be bothered I tell him that he’s breaking my heart because he use to be soo affectionate. But right around 11/12 yes old he started withdrawing and distancing himself and I really want to reconnect with him.
@gl93672 жыл бұрын
Just keep trying to connect with him on his location as she explained in the video. With much patience and perseverance coming from you, your son will come around. A lot of teenagers go through a year or two of being like that, then one day they will be back to their old loving self again. It will really surprise you how it works out that way. Every moment is an opportunity to make things better, not worse. Think of your effort as a seed you are planting. You may not see the growth for a while, but you keep watering it, nurturing it. The roots will grow and the sprout will eventually show. I wish you the best!

I just wanted to say thank you for this video. My son will be 15 next month and we had a huge argument last night about him leaving his friends house and riding around in a car with someone older. I know it's not the end of the world but it's a broken rule in our house and he just doesn't see the big deal. Things progressed and because of his attitude, he lost his phone and xbox. Now he wont even talk to me or my husband. I can do better as a mom but how do you discipline/ punish teenage boys when they brake a family discussed rule and have them not hate you???????
