We often talk about how to be classy, elegant and ladylike, but let's talk about a more important term: Sophistication. I am sharing with you some foundational tips on how to be a sophisticated feminine woman.

One thing to consider around the topic of sophistication is the types of jokes we tell others and what we find funny. I am trying to post some memes & videos right now on instastories bc I think laughter can be very therapeutic. But, I'm not going to stoop to vulgar, insensitive, or inappropriate content. We can remain sophisticated, even in difficult times.

I plan to become more sophisticated by learning to slow down more. Sometimes my brain and thought process goes so fast that I fumble other things and words. I feel like I need to slow down more and think things through.

Love your message! I plan to dress more sophisticated (meaning actually putting effort into my look instead of always being in a hurry & therefore feeling sloppy). I noticed that the way I dress influences the way I act, along with how I feel about myself.

“You do not need to leave behind people to become more sophisticated” 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 This video just SPEAKS to me. I had an incident last year where someone dear to me pretty much “left me behind”. And let me tell you, that was quite possibly the hardest moment in my life to just be “left behind” because someone chose that more narcissistic path. Although I wouldn’t consider that person a narcissist, just misguided. We in our culture these days have seen the rise of a movement of sorts that tells us to remove “toxic” people. And although I agree sometimes you need to remove bad influences from your life, you shouldn’t hide behind the term “toxic” just to leave people in the dust without explanation, conversation, or an opportunity to show growth. “Toxic” culture I think would be an interesting topic to dive deep on. 🤔

I totally agree with you. And I can understand what you feel, I am sorry for you. And I heard about something even worst than being far from toxic people, being far from people that are not what you want to be, so if you want to be rich, or have a certain job, you should say goodbye to your old friends and try to be with people that are rich or have a good job.

I'm sorry if you got like 3 notifications, my previous message wasn't posting correctly lol. I agree with you! I do think the toxic label does prevent many people from living and interacting the way we should as feminine (and especially Christian women). I will touch on it in the future. I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I had this happen to me twice with really close friends, and it was one of the worst feelings.
@joolsfactor

Thyme and Tenderness I agree with you. This "toxic" label can be cruel and extremely harsh. Some folks do have a negative outlook that seems more apparent than their positive side. However saying that these people should be severed from your life is wrong in my opinion. Trying to find out why the are the way they are and trying to help them is kinder and should be how a Christian woman reacts.

I was beaming with joy when you mentioned Nicole Michelle! I have been following her for half a year and her lessons are incredible. Listening to you in conjunction with her has forced me to re-evaluate the image I want to give as a feminine woman. I think another aspect that could add to one's sophistication is listening to your intuition. I believe when you are in tune with what's going on around you, you are able to think before you speak or act and separate yourself when needed. As you said, as a feminine woman, those who admire you will see you as childlike; however, that does not mean that you have to be naive. It is critical to protect your peace.

I love the way you speak! You sound sweet but also confident and mature! You sound like you could be a manager or supervisor at an office and I work in an office so I figure If I ever want to get promoted, I need to speak more like you! I definitely have an extended adolescence when it comes to how I speak and I’m 33! But I think just listening to you speak will help me improve!

You handled the area of friendship and socialising pragmatically. Making room for people in your life that challenge and mentor you to be a better person is important for self fulfilment. Staying in a group of friends who are easy to the point of lazy; maybe are waiting, subconsciously, for you to be the mentor. It's about the balance.
@CynthiaL

Sarah Boosini thank you so much! 💛😊 this is really encouraging to hear. My husband has a client who works for KZbin and he told me that American channels are usually promoted more - that could be it since I live in Canada? Regardless, I’m just thankful for the few who watch 💛. I also love your idea for this! I feel like I could address it in the future, so stay tuned 😊

I think sophistication is something you develop when you are very young. I think you can have a sophisticated behaviour but if you are not a sophisticated person it is very difficult to become one. People should make sure they help their child to become one, as it is for them it might be too late.

as a teenager, I really want to be sophisticated and classy. But then, there's the memes, the 'being relatable' and 'I don't care' attitude that makes me forget my goal of becoming a respectable young lady who respects herself and others. I hope, you ladies, can give me some piece of advice. I would really appreciate it.

Hi Cynthia, cute videos! I just previewed over 20 videos from different creators, in addition to searching online, and I can't find what I'm looking for. Perhaps you'd be interested to do a video on the topic? I've adored Audrey Hepburn since highschool, and took a lot of inspiration from her for living a slower, quietly confident lifestyle. But we didn't have social media back then, and I've been most recently influenced by those who follow the Kardashians; whose influence on today's society seems inescapable. When you turn on the TV or KZbin, and see all the music celebrated is Cardi B, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, etc., SNL skits, basically noisy, sophomoric stuff - it's hard to know what to do to live alternatively, since media is such a powerful influence. I'm thinking the female equivalent to a man drinking whiskey and smoking a cigar while listening to a jazz record. So things like classical music, sipping something in the garden, having breakfast or dinner on the patio - basically a form of adulting, slow living, that cuts media or reduces it to slower, quality formats. I don't know what to call it, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, to insert more class and maturity and culture and control daily. Perhaps French? Does that make sense? I'd love some help here, with a more comprehensive list, including examples, of worthy activities, to be influenced and surrounded more positively; and cut out the noise. It's very North American. I just remembered something like Bridgerton's promenading/strolling, which they still do after dinner as a family in some countries. So things like that! Hope you know what I mean, and can expand on that! :) x ❤️🇨🇦
