Spot on. My tragedy..my 3 children were killed almost 5 years ago..fast forward now I am heading to Africa in about 90 days to volunteer to help those in need for 2 years. I think it is more common then not that our tragedies do turn into other peoples hope as you shared 3:33 I feel I will gain more then those I serve. Many great nuggets to think on. This is an excellent video. Thank you. ❤️💜💙

I agree about the comment I just read about seeing videos at the right time. I’m a single mom and I’ve hurt my kids by not being around like I should. Before seeing this vid, I felt immense guilt. It’s not gone but I know I have to make the best of this situation and help my kids as much as humanly possible. Thank you Todd.

I'm in a similar situation. 51. To be honest, all the mindfulness practice, meditation, and listening to videos like this, and embracing painful emotions...I struggle with wondering will I ever be able to find peace. I mentally agree totally with Todd, but real life is too difficult. The echos of the past never process.

@@mettacine Yes, indeed - real life is much to painful as to just meditate or talk it away with words - happyness were just little moments in my life - the rest was pain and dissapointments.

The universe shows us what we are capable of by all the experience and lessons we go through. Most of it comes as a blessing in disguise and all it takes is to embrace them and know it's all for good..and trust God with the process .we can become passionate about connection, healing and helping others discover their own purpose in life. I think it is truly amazing to trust the universe and know it has got our back . Let it be. ❤

Beautiful advice and wisdom at the end! Thank you, Todd. There are dark threads that are healing as well as the beautiful wonderful, absolutely grateful light threads. As you said, it’s important not to resist or remain stuck in struggle over the dark threads. Let them heal and make overall sense in one’s purposeful life ❤ And I really do love my boyfriend so much. So so much. He wanted my freedom and when things got God awful after that guy in Arizona and a million other people wouldn’t give me a job and an apartment, things got real…whatever it takes.

I love you for pointing out more opportunities for positive change, especially regarding homelessness. Independent women need to be able to get apartments and jobs. Independent men too, but holy crap was that a hurdle in my personal life. Independence is necessary and needed before any sort of romance outside can grow. Covid was one of the dumbest ideas anyone ever came up with. However, those of us who made it through have learned a lot and are now working hard to reestablish the world. I will never support or believe in handing out money to people for doing absolutely nothing productive or helpful for the world. …unless that is, they’re retired and at the age of retirement. And I must say a bit about the whole “they’re dead” notion about this belief. Nope. Not dead. Just real. No celebrities are coming to save or make any of us famous. They are aware of many of us, but that doesn’t mean anything will get better because of that lol

My whole life has been already messed up, at the day I was born - into a very dysfunctional, evil and abusive family system. Even after I left all that real abusive family - my life did not work out that much better - even doing trauma therapy and trying hard to change my point of view - I am still suffering very much from C-PTSD. Just found your videos today but there is not much hope that my life will turn into a better place.

Claudia I don’t know if this will help but when you say there is not much hope think of this phrase- When everything feels hopeless or you feel like all hope is gone remember that YOU are the hope ! It’s not something I thought of myself. It was said by one of the few politicians I have respect for and it wasn’t even his own mantra- he said it was something his father always told him.

Todd, everything you say makes a lot of sense. Yet, when reality hits it's a different story. My ex has stage 3 cancer. I'm trying everything you have taught unfortunately is not helping. My adult children are devastated and are looking to me for strength and support. My friend, I don't know what to do.

My heart breaks for you, Rick. All I can say is, as best you can, allow the fear, don't resist the doubt and uncertainty, and let the flood of emotions to wash over you. This is how you will face the fears, know what to do, and process these difficult times. Sometimes being honest and open with our children can be healing for everyone. It lets them know what authentic healing looks like. You dont have to be perfect and tough, and they will surely love you no matter what. I'll be sending lots of love as well

Maihoang I wish I could tell you how to get past the pain. I feel the same. My wife of 30 yrs passed only two months ago and it’s extremely painful. I’ve been watching Todd’s videos and someone else named Nora McInerny ( who speaks mostly about grief ) and they are both helping somewhat. You should check her out too. One of the things that’s said about grief is that you don’t move past it or move on from it like most people will suggest but rather you can just move forward with it
