The KZbin algorithm introduced me to this video. I'm really glad it did. More and more I have been craving to simplify my practice, to be aware and surrender to what is. It's a slow and arduous process, detaching from the mind, but it does feel like the most important thing I will ever do. This was really helpful, thank you!

The way that I practice being aware of being aware is when I'm walking from point A to point B. When I'm walking to work, I empty myself of thoughts and simply let the awareness of my surroundings to come in. When I'm walking to down the hall to meet with a colleague, whatever. Associating it with a particular activity like that has made it almost automatic for me. And now it's spilling over into a lot of other things--when I'm making dinner, cleaning the apartment, etc. I also find that it makes my sits that much deeper and more peaceful.

I watched it until the end. When you asked us to feel that nothing mattered for this moment, it was such a relief to me, and I had a memory of lying on my back as a child in a pool by myself looking up at the blue sky and a bird flying way above and and I remembered that natural sense of peace which I have not felt for years. Thank you for this video. I have saved it to my Best playlist.

It is interesting, I’ve noticed a resistance in me when it comes to sit down meditation. It’s like my mind knows what’s coming and gets defensive, and takes on this sort of fight or flight state.

I try and try again. Now I am really serious about it and the voice (ego) gets so mean and loud.
@codycarl60273 ай бұрын
That's normal at first bro the ego is like oh hell no ❤ keep it going sit to be still and just watch it helped me to wait watching with my eyes closed and waiting for the colors to start bursting it's subtle and right after that if you keep still , keep your awareness you'll slip into the hypnogogic state(in-between wake and sleep) that's the key right there, do that stay aware you can leave your body if you want or just sit and watch the silence will speak volumes to you. If you do wanna leave your body just will your self up and out the technique I originally used was telling myself over and over and over I am going to have an out of body experience, i am going to slip into the hypnogogic state the in-between waking and sleeping once I hit that state it will trigger me to lift up and out of this body ,I will take my waking conscious with me where ever i go. I kept doing that and it became so incredibly easy to get out of my body then I became completely aware , I became aware in waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. I'm telling you this cuz it works from my experience, you can make it your own experience. I hope this reaches you with love light and life❤

Your video is such a beautiful introduction to awareness of awareness - an important topic in many ways; thank you, Sunny! I've been working for over five years now on consciousness, meditating every day for 20 minutes and more in total silence… - and changing into this "new perspective" which you described was life-changing. I've even been able to resolve severe depression, which I had for many years before, by exploring this beautiful emptiness "inside" - essential in these times of media publishing severe bad news day by day in the Western world. Not thinking seems impossible at first-it needs a lot of training. A very helpful hint: First, look at an object-ideally a natural thing, e.g., a flower-keeping your eyes relaxed without moving them. Then look for "the one" who is looking… - and observe without judging anything.

Knowledge does not help in this case. I read every book krishnamurti but failed to get it. I revisited this domain of spirituality after a long time after watching similar videos by great teachers mainly by Osho. This is much easier when we practice. As you watch your own mind it can be frustrating because it jumps to different things without you being aware. As you continue to do this you slowly realize that the mind is actually running the show rather than "you". And then you will realize that there is nothing you can do about this. And if you are lucky this awareness jumps in once a while and shows that you are lost in thought. For a regular person this awareness only happens in retrospect after you are lost in thought stream. Slowly you will or may realize that it is this thought stream that runs the life and you are a mere spectator. What makes this very difficult is some of the thought is actually needed or useful for our survival and some of it is negative, obssessive or plain random stuff. But you still need to have a practice day in and day out and believe in something called grace. This is so difficult that an element of grace is required because you cannot do expecting something in return. You have to leave it to the grace of god or existence. Sorry for a long chatter.

I love that your practice has come to becoming aware of awareness and living it. I started to practice listening to sound and only sound. I think this can also lead to a deeper awakening, not that there is an end goal but it opens up a deeper, richer beaness. lol If that makes sense? It's truly amazing how attachment to thought takes over my life!! It's just a thought! Thanks Sunny, great lesson!

Thank you so much for this great and very clearly expressed video again Sunny. All your video-teachings are certainly watched to the end, and also your email advices to me are always read. I even take notes. I am grateful for all your teachings, and for the help, tips and hints you share with us from your own experience.. Your teachings have become more and more precice, clear and easier to understand, more to the point, with not too much elaboration in them anymore... I appreciate very much your deep and sincere intentions and considerations, which I can sense in all of your videos, to make yourself understood as clearly as possible, to drag us out of this, our limited sense of personhood, into our essential being of who and what we truly are. Now, after some years of watching you, there are actually no questions left , nevertheless thanks for always offering your help and support in different ways. It's now a matter of remembering more and more this, our true being, and establishing it in meditation and, if I don't forget, during the day, by taking brief moments of de-focusing from the objects, as you once mentioned, and thereby returning to the silence of our shared Being., .

Very well articulated. If one has had a glimpse of awareness versus thoughts, one can appreciate every word of this video and all of the examples. One needs to be ready. And most haven't experienced it. I try to tech people in practice sessions, observing their inner movements from "thought mode" to "awareness mode" . And also to recognise how they slip from awareness into thoughts. And ask them to revert to the sense of I AM. Excellent video. Thank you. ❤

Thankyou for such lovely simple direct teaching. I have stumbled across this video tonight after a number of times practicing being just Awareness today at work and during my lunch break on Scunthorpe High Street. I am trying to not become so immersed in the content of the experience I experience. I also sometimes use Douglas Hardings pointing experiment by becoming 'Headless.' I then can just be the open empty space of awareness. It is work in progress but I understand that if just practice it becomes more habitual and natural. I am happy to let it happen as it happens and am careful not put expectations or expect any progress or improvement as that will just take me to the lesser away from the greater but to just let it happen as it does. Thank you again.

yessss, "I" is already aware and aware... but from this video I found that being aware of being aware still have different "depth" or let me say "intensity". And when I have the thought of being aware I am aware of the thought, NOT awareness itself. There is a state of peace, colors and love that unfolds in moments of total awareness. My goal is to get lost in this state... forever...
@violaevavenczel83782 ай бұрын
❤Wow, truly honest and inspiring words! Thanks!😊❤ Just want to add something, if you dont mind. Awareness of awareness does not mean that you are going to loose your awareness. It is kind of the opposite in my experience. 😊❤😊Awareness of awareness is like the sun that is trying to shine on itself but eventually realises that he/she/it is ALREADY THE SUN! ❤😊❤🎉❤❤😊😊😅😅😂😂😊😊❤❤❤❤ So shining on itself is impossible. He/she/it is is already it!❤😊❤ The sun is already itself. There is no need to shine on anyone or anything. The sun analogue is a wonderful one, I think! 😊 Being aware of being aware is like the sun becomes aware of that it is the source of all energy and life itself. The sun could not care less if bacteria, cell, plant, animal and human on planet Earth is living or dying. In that sense source/life/awareness/love/god/brahman/allah/jehovah/supreme consciousness or call it whatever one may wish to, "does not care" and is in a way, disconnected from the existing things it gives energy to. But in reality the sun meataphor does not fully work. Because in reality, - so does our experience proves it, - "the sun" which is pure "Supreme consciousness" or pure "Awareness of awareness" or "The I am" is all there is ALL THERE IS!! ❤❤❤ Objects, thoughts, believes, body-mind-concept, feelings, separate-beings, perceptions, etc, never are separated out from it! ❤ Non-duality is the highest experience and "state of mind" that can be experienced. And it is the hardest experience to put into words. Buddhism have some branches, where they say: in their path the final goal is that one shall even loose Awareness of awareness / I-am-ness / Beingness / I am-ness itself. But I would not agree with that 100%. The most beautiful "moment" in one's life is when one is finally self-realised. A pre-enlightened being can not do it, so cell, bacteria, animal, human-child can not attain self-realisation. They are in pre-seperatedness-consciousness. Then there is self-realised-consciousness. Then there is post-enlightened-consciousnes. But I would not worry too much if I was you. The truth will get reaveled to you, self-realisation is part of natural evolution. It is in its true and beautiful clarity if you just keep going on the spiritual path will happen naturally. The trick is to stay openminded to the real and authentic experiences instead of sticking strictly to ideologies, dogmas, philosophy, paths, religious and cultural belief system. "I am that that is aware and I am aware that I am awareness" and realising that "All is one" and that "All is one-consciousness ": is the brightest and most liberating thing that can ever "happen" within any Being, - who previously ever thought that it was a separated small thing, a separated Being.❤😊❤

I'm always recommending your videos because they're some of the best meditations and exercises on KZbin imo. It's only me or is it becoming easier to be aware these days? Every 'wrong thing' that threatens to "ruin my day"-those little petty incidents-seems to appear like a 'Matrix agent' testing my awareness and patience. I try to address problems as quickly as possible, so I don't give it more attention than necessary. And I said attention, I didn't say emotion. I don't want to give a fraction of a second of my emotions to react. At least, I'm trying to identify this with awareness. Of course, it's not 100% of the time, but it's increasing quite well with more meditation and self-observation. Thanks for everything, Sunny!

While listening to your talks regarding awareness something happened which came so natural and experiencially what i really am. It is beyond words, as Sadhguru would explain it. I know i am awareness and i know what consciousness is , but this time i am feeling it more natural and in the present moment that no thoughts came out! Now i know what i really am experiencially! Thank you so much! Maybe i was hypnoticed by the looks of your eyes! I can see deep presence in your eyes.

I never find you teachings too long. This lesson I found particularly important for me as I still hav a problem letting go. In general I have gotten better but that final letting go (ego) will not give in. Saying I can’t have both and that I must give up a lessor for the greater resonated greatly and I will continue searching for the truth. I feel I am so close and his hand is teaching out for me to hold but I can’t quite do it yet and feel discouraged that this is the case. But then I hear “you are exactly where you’re ment to be” and feel keep going.
