I think people and society just have a tendency to overcorrect, it wasnt so long ago that a lot of us men were the controlling abusive types who legitimately did try to control their wives/gf, ive known men like that in the current day even, the type that think their wife/gf has to vote like them, have dinner ready when they get home and never leave the house or talk to other men or have a job. Ive also known men like shown in the video though where they let their wife control them and do the same things I listed above but to him. Then there's the men who act like dating a woman that has a kid is "being a beta cuck" and act like being a step-dad is the worst thing that can happen to you, then theres women who think all men should be totally enthusiastic to date a woman who has 5 kids from 5 different men before the age of 30, its all silly if you ask me, us men can be respectful of women and be self respectful to ourselves and our own needs at the same time, we're all just people trying to make life a little less shitty by finding someone to spend it with.

Note: this is only true in woke US universities. During my time in a Hungarian university (STEM field), people behaved nothing like that and our only problems were that the exams were too hard or our classmates were too awkward and it was hard to form friendships because everyone only talked about the courses. My now ex got very upset with me when I questioned the fact that she befriend and was texting with a married guy she met at work who looked just like me and who wasn't close with his wife any more and only stayed married because of their daughter and took solo trips to Miami all the time. Even as a Gen X kid, I had was commonly gaslit by girls I dated into thinking half (if not most) of the stuff in this video was normal.
